Default Front-end Popping and Snapping!

Mods:

Ohlins fixed perch struts, Cusco camber plates, Progress sways with Kartboy endlinks, GT Spec 3 piece subframe replacement set, GT Spec tie brace, NRG H-Brace, TIC fender braces.

I experience a continuous popping in the front-end while driving over various surfaces. I have lifted the car countless times, checking to make sure a brace is not snapped or if anything may have come loose. I have also loosened and re-tightened everything numerous times. Additionally, when I corner REAL hard, I get a really loud bang, like a bomb just went off in the front end. This is all very frustrating and unsettling.

Could the popping be the Ohlins? Do I have too much stiffness? Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks for the help!

CB

My vote is on the spherical bearings for the tophats.

Yeah, thanks Clint, that is where my deduction is heading as well. Funny thing is, the sound appears to be down low. But, because everything is so tight and right everywhere, the source has to be something that is not so obvious. Thus, upon your urging, it is prolly the $50 Cusco camber plate that were supposedly "a great deal".

Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the help!

^^Yeah that. Sounds exactly like the problems I'm having... although not the loud bang. My right bearing is more worn than my left bearing, so when I take a hard left turn, you can hear it bouncing around and rumbling.

If you get to lift the car up again, check for play around the bearing. I bet you have some. I can pretty much move mine vertically a bit, which I've been told is very bad

Clint, I'm waiting for those Vorshlag plates!

Yeah, exactly. As the front end undulates over, say, a speed bump, it sounds like the front end is coming loose from the firewall.

I lubed the spherical bearings last night with some Slick 50 crap last night and it did not change the popping at all.
