Hey guys,

My Eibachs are on their way - just wondering about the install,
from anyone that has done it so far.

Any tricks to know ? Do the bump stops need to be cut down ?

Anything else I should do at the same time ?

As usual, all help is appreciated...

either camber plates of hardened strut tops will make a huge improvement, especially if you get a sport alignment with some negative camber of caster adjustments.

I installed eibachs and it went very smoothly I did no addl mods the car dropped perfectly, I like the way it drives better then with the stock springs also. I havnt gottent aligned yet becuase its driving perfectly straight. Maybe I just got lucky there but I will get the aligment done eventually

No, don't trim the stops. And while hardened mounts will improve strut performance, you will find a significant improvement with just the springs.

Anyone know the exact spring rates on the eibach pro kit springs? The 2004 springs aren't listed on the ravensblade site...

Edit: From a few posts down: 234/229 seems to be the rate.

Unless you removed the strut cover you wouldn't see the bump stops. They help keep the shock from fully compressing which is not only bad for the shock but bonejarring as well.

I had to cut the ones in my Civic due to the 2" drop

It is an inverted strut. You aren't going to see the bump stops because they are inside the strut body!

Sportybry,

Can you post some pics of your STi with the Eibachs? I just ordered a set and would like to see the drop. Did you also do the hardened strut mounts? If so, who has the best price right now?

Thanks,

Karl

I haven't installed them yet. Going to stick with the standard strut-tops, too.

Next weekend is D-Day, or rather E-Day !

I'm fully aware of what bump stops are and what they are for.....and I removed the dust cap on every corner....no separate bump stops on my struts!

Not sure if that's true or not either....a bump stop would have exactly the same function regardless of whether the strut is inverted, would it not?

He means that you have to remove the strut from the strut housing (nut on the bottom of the strut body - the red part), and once you do you will see the bump stop on the shaft. Since the strut is inverted (basically upside down), the shaft is at the bottom (inside the strut housing). The dust covers are actually over the strut body portion.
