Default Post TiC Holy Shift Kit Install Question

I just installed the holy shift kit this past weekend and noticed that I here the tranny whinning, mostly second gear. I'm assuming this is normal as I was told to expect more noise, vibration etc. I also noticed that the shifting is much stiffer and requires much more effort to shift, but definately much less play and more positive shifts. These are not complaints, but rather observations and I want to know if this all seems normal. Thanks

Increased effort because of the short throw. Increased noise because of the bushings transmitting it to the cabin... sounds about right to me.

you check your pivot bushing torque? it should only be at 9 ft lbs and is very easy to over tighten, which would cause a much stiffer shifting.

Which pivot bushings there are pivot bushings under the shift boot, and there are others under the car? Correct? or are u referring to all?

TiC, I fixed the stiffness problem thanks to twiSTies. Now I am hearing a squeeling/chirping sound almost like brake squeel, but not as loud. Any idea what this could be? I hear it in the lower gears because I'm going slower and it is almost constant.

Make sure you didn't install the rear stay bushing upside down. If you did it will rub on the driveshaft.

Yep - that looks right.

You got the lockout cable zip tied under the car right?

How about the lug at the end of the cable in the lever? You pushed it to the center of the pin, and put some grease in there right?

In fact, you used grease on all the moving parts right?

The little hoop at the end of the lockout cable that attaches to the transmission. It's a moving part so it needs to be greased.

Is the squeek only during shifts or while it's in gear?
