Default sway bar; how much difference?

This perhaps is a noob question, but how much difference in handling would you notice after installing a decent aftermarket sway bar? Would you deem it worth it for someone who doesn't track or autocross?

You will notice the difference. It's really one of the "must have" suspension mods. How big you go depends on what you'll do with the car.

I waited too long to do my sways. If I had to do it again, it would be the first thing I did. Huge difference.

You will feel that the car doesn't lean as much as stock during the turns and the overall feeling will be "stiffer". When I did my swaybars, it felt like I put stiffer springs.

They will make a big difference in the handling of the car. If you'd like some suggestions on sizes just let us know.

Sways are like the first mod you should do, You will notice a HUGE difference in handling.

If your planning on running stock springs, get adjustable sways and run the rear 22mm and the front 24mm. That is a pretty good combo for stock springs, and its not too stiff where the car will slide out from under you.

Than if you get adjustable and decide to get stiffer springs, tighten them up a lil more to a stiffer setting

Also its highly recomended to get front/rear end links and rear mounts to support the heavy duty sways, if you dont get them you can break the end links and rear mount

Well in that case.. I will ask for a suggestion. I plan on getting sway bars very soon for my car. I want something that will give me a siffer.. more controlable feel. I am not looking for a say bar that wil make my car throw its ass out. I am kinda looking for something more like umm.. well if i am going to fast exiting a turn.. i will get a more balanced feel of to much exiting speed and not more of a oversteer feel.

I want to more like pull my self out of a turn and not more push. I plan on ordering the tien flex setup for my car also.

Cobb and Whiteline have nice swaybar setups with the whiteline probably a little more popular.

24mm adjustable front bar, and 22mm adjustable rear bar. I would also suggest rear endlinks as the stock ones just aren't up to the task.

The sizes I suggest will balance the car nicely, and the adjustable portion will allow you to tailor your performance so that it is comfortable for you.

I have the Tein Flexs w/ Kartboy F/R endlinks and Whiteline sways (24mm adj rear w/HD mounts and 27mm adj front) Very comfortable setup and handles phenominally. You will be pleased.

Are there any particular reasons why you recommend a 24mm/22mm sway bars over a 27mm/24mm setup?

I got my sways from you and talked to you on the phone before purchasing. This is the setup you recommended to me as well (stock suspension).

I love the setup and I have set the front sway bar at the stiffest setting (26mm) and rear at medium (24mm). The car feels great and it is predictable. Thank you!

Yes. For his use - street only the front bar will make for smooth and predictable direction changes. This is the same reason I recommend it for guys who road race on occasion.

The rear bar I suggest because he's still on stock springs. 24mm in my opinion is too large for stock springs, but with the 22mm adj. he'll be able to bump up to 24mm when/if he gets stiffer springs.

I've got an essay on this subject somewhere around here.
