Default Endlink Placement

Hi,

I just got my Perrin rear swaybar and endlinks warranty because they were completly rusted. And as i was re-reading the instructions for the endlinks it dawned upon me that it doesnt say what side the endlink gos on, just say the same side you took off the factory ones. Now your probabaly saying the same side you took off your old Perrin ones... But i dont know if I even installed those right....

So my question is what side should the endlinks goes on? Should the Perrin logo/Bolt head face outwards towards the wheels? Or Nuts towards the wheels?

If you dont understand what i mean here a quick paint picture i draw up.

please let me know.

-Han

The way you have it in the picture is correct. Bolt tops should be facing the outside of the car.

Yes. Its like if you were to put you're tires on the oppisite direction. They will still work, but no where near to their potential.

That's what i was wondering also. It seem to me by what the insutructions " It is critial to align endlinks perpendicular to the ground when suspension is loaded " can be done by both sides.

Edited: Make sense then! hahha

that is invalid example in my eyes, please do expalin more if you can. The bolt nor the nut is moving in any way and the only purpose of their presence is to secure the endlink to the sway bar and the control arm. I fail to see how it actually makes a difference with respect to which way the bolt is facing as long as it is securely fastened with lock-tite.

I know that was a kinda lazy anser. I am no expert myself. But I know it has to do with geometry. It has something to do with the angels. When the endlink is mounted in the oppisite direction, it does not have the same geometry.

Mounting the endlink inward would reduce the effect of the sway bar by changing the motion ratio. It's kind of like a "free" way to have an adjustable sway bar if you really want to reduce its effectiveness.

interesting, when you say "mounting the endlink inward" meaning switching the orientation of the bolt correct? Do you know how big of a difference does it make?

So with the spacers that Kartboy provides (when asked) for the fronts where would the spacers be placed in that diagram?

Planning on installing everything this weekend and want to be sure I get it done right the first time!

Thanks,

Jay
