IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2007 Trader Rating: (1) | Hi, I have a 05 STI and I am about to upgrade some sway bars After I searched, I come up with 26F/24R whiteline setup with KB endlinks. My car is 80% for daily drive and 20% for canyon run, no track time or autoX plan so far. My goal is to have the most netrual handling feel because grip is always better ![]() My question is, I already have a set of stances GR+ coilover on my car (spring rate is 8k/6k). Will the 26F/24R too over kill for daily drive? I've heard with this spring rate, 22F/24R is all I need, is that true? Or should I even consider 27F/24R combo? Thank you so much! From what I recall and IMHO, I think the 27mm bar upfront is overkill unless you are going to track or autox your car. FWIW I went with 24mm front and rear adjustables and haven't looked back. The rear end rotates around more than it did with the stock set up. I can see where you would want more to track your car, but for my DD and occasional twisties runs, I think the 24mm bars are just fine. Just my 2 cents. |

| Professional STI Driver | Alot, including my self run the whiteline 27mm adjustable front and 24mm adjustable rear on the street daily. I love the way the car handles. I dont have springs right now, but am going to get the RCE yellows. |

With the 8k and 6k spring rates i think the best option would be the 22-24mm adjustable bar front and rear. That's my guesstimation though and i'll let someone with a bit more knowledge chime in. |

So how about 26/24 and still with my coilover setup? That would be fun but will PITA when I drive it daily, lol

Once the bar is in it's not too hard to adjust. I don't know why it would be a pita for daily driving though. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | LOL, I have the 32mm strano front bar, 9k/mm fr and 8k/mm rear T2 coilovers and I don't think its overkill for the street. Good luck trying to find a strano bar though. |

| Junior STI Driver | I run the same CO's as thunderbird, but went with the hollow Cobb 25mm bars f/r r-adjustable and on soft, and I think it's amazing! I think you might find that a hollow bar is a little easier to daily drive with over a solid bar. Also, I find that a stiff back end seems to make the car tripod easily under hard driving, and that is killer on your diff! I've made it softer for grip's sake, and still find the rotation to be great. If you are worried about oversteer, I think you'll also find that you can greatly influence the back end with just an alignment. -1.0 - 1.3 will make it come out pretty often, but -1.4 to -1.6 will keep it pretty neutral (at least in my case). Just my .02 |

i hope you did your homework on the strano bar. I've seen a couple people have serious problems with it.

| Junior STI Driver | If you are running enough spring, big bars are probably not needed...in Auto-X situations a lot of people will run really soft bars or disconnect the rear altogether. Swaybars are a "band-aid" for cars that run soft springs, once the springs are stiff enough, the bars are not really needed anymore. This ad is not endorsed by this member.
