IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | OK... I have a set of coilovers installed. How do I adjust them? I know... stupid question. But this is the first time I have ever seen coilovers in person, much less owned a set. And I didn't get a 'manual' that shows how to change the setup. Just a quick reference for settings. You know.. 1/2 turn front, 3/4 turn rear... etc. I'd like to know... how to I adjust the height? (Meaning... can you show me what parts of the coilover I need to turn and how it works?) Also... what exactly do I 'turn' to adjust compression and rebound? (again... I need pictures are drawings to show me what parts on the coilovers do this). Is this what the spanner wrench is used for? And finally, has anyone devised some way to adjust the rear coilovers without having to remove the rear seat? This ad is not endorsed by this member. IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | Thanks Karl.. I was actually looking at that thread earlier, taking some notes. Have you seen anything that makes it possible to adjust the coilovers from the backseat without removing the entire back seat? Has anyone made something to make it easier to adjust? |

The second step is to fabricate an in-situ adjuster (assuming your dampers don't already have them). This isn't absolutely necessary, but it makes things a lot easier, and it eliminates the possibility of dropping the adjustment tool down into the chassis in the heat of the moment.

H4N, I would double check to make sure everything is seated correctly. Also, please check that all nuts/bolts (particularly the ones that attach the strut top) are torqued down nicely (I used an impact gun with a strap wrench, so far so good!). Then, grease it up between the strut top and contact point on the car. If you want, spray some WD-40 on the rubber areas in the strut top themselves (I did and it got rid of all my creaks BTW wd-40 is safe on rubber ). That should be about it! Good luck and let me know!Kind Regards, Ryan

I lubed mine up after it was installed too! Here's what I did...Bring the back end up with a jack. Take your seats out to access strut tops in the rear. Now, loosen up the three nuts holding the strut top to the car just enough to where you can squeeze your hand between the strut top and the vehicle. Grease it up (I used what I have in hand...mobil 1 synthetic )Tighten it up and call it good! Now, while the car is still up... go grab your WD-40 and the little red straw attach it to the can and point the red straw between the top perch and the shaft of the strut/coilover On my car there was just enough clearance to allow the straw to slide through and I gave it a quick shot of WD-40. Worked my way around the area as much as possible. Wipe off excess. lower and go for a ride! Done! ![]() Hope that helped! Kind Regards, Ryan
