IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2006 Trader Rating: (4) | Well, I spent another Saturday down at MSR Houston...Practically no one there so I had the whole track to myself, managed to get in around 20+ laps @ 2.3 miles per lap. I only made one major error during the day which resulted in my spinning off the track and into the mud... (http://www.msrhouston.com/msrhouston...ry.asp?g=track Turn 2A for anyone that cares) After this, I carried on for a few more laps until I started to notice a very intense vibration from the wheel when I hit around 70MPH+. I can't see any visible damage; don't know why it would be doing this. Car seems to handle the same regardless of the vibration (well, before 70mph at least... I haven't really driven it higher than that after I noticed it) Any hints on what might be causing the vibration? It's like a cell phone on TURBO-vibrate all throughout the wheel. Thanks. IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2006 Trader Rating: (9) | if u got aftermarket wheels or even stock wheels with new tires, they might have put sticky weights on them, which i dont like to use on customers cars let alone my car, for the simple fact that they do come off. (being that im on the stock bbs wheels i used wheel weights that i hammered on the lip vs sticky weights) but wheels dont stay balanced forever, i might hit a small bump that could theoretically unbalance your wheel, or a big pothole, a internal band could come loose causing a wheel imbalance, just take to to a tire shop and have them look at them. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2006 Trader Rating: (4) | Eh. I'm silly. I didn't even realize the mud could be causing this. Hopefully tomorrow when she's clean all will be well. Again, thanks for the help guys (& gal )! |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2006 Trader Rating: (4) | Yeah, since it's been raining hard here in Houston the infield of the track was VERY muddy. I didn't mean to go off-roading ![]() That's after wiping it down and before its real wash... |
