Strictly for the newbies.

There are certain parts you can't go without extra components (i.e. sway bars without endlinks or bushings)... I've been reading and I dunno what is REALLY necessary.

So can someone take the time to walk 'us' thru these questions:

1. I know it really depends on the set-up but for daily/street drivers, will the sti pink springs do or is there anything else?

2. again with the sways... what else is necessary to complete the package?

3. struts... do the mounts accent the feel or not needed?

anything else I'm missing here, feel free to add while i go ahead to read some more. 8)

My own perspective in short version

1- yes, the Pink springs will do just fine on the street, based on many existing users review, not my personal experience.

2- Swaybars do not need end-links, period. Updated end-links are generally for performance driving other than canyon carving. Mounting brackets are included with swaybars that are larger than 22 mm as the stock one would come up too small.

3- Strut top mounts, in general terms, decrease compliance, hence enhance chassis reaction time and the driving feel.

I am sure many others will chime in

that is my list of upgrades. make sure if you want to do the topmounts, do them with the springs as you will have them out anyway.

Default AEM FINALLY RELEASE THEIR COLD AIR INTAKE FOR THE 04 STi

I agree with those mods - but to save $$$ I chose the Tanabe GF210's, which are close to the pinks' spring rate. Also good luck finding the rear strut mounts - they are apparently unique to the 04 STi, cost a $$$ and are in high demand!

The rear mounts are common to all 04 Imprezas and they are different from the 02-03s. I didn't notice them being that much more expensive than before. I did them at the same time as the pink springs and I think they are well worth it.
