Default Check out my prototype coilover adjusters and lend some advice...

I love my KW Variant 3 coilovers, and I find it fun to play with the bump and rebound settings to tweak my setup. I was a pain, however, to keep removing the rear seat to adjust the rears. So I asked a friend who likes to fabricate things on a lathe to make me an adjuster. Not exactly a novel idea, the Litchfield type 25 comes with something similar as do the Whiteline G4 coilovers. But it was fun to make. The one on the left was my plastic and wood dowel mock up for him to use. He made the whole thing out of aluminum, titanium, and a cut up hex wrench from Ace Hardware.

Installed:

I am going to test them out for a while then he is going to laser etch some markings on top of the knob for me. Mainly a line to help determine how many turns and a + and - sign so I don't have to think to remember which way to turn them. He is also going to anodize them for me.

So here is how you can help me out, he has many colors available, I have narrowed it down to the following:

Black, red, clear, gold, blue

What do you think?

Great work and I'm glad someone finally came up with this for the KWs. What you could also try adding would be a way to lock the adjuster onto the coilover nut so it won't come off?

like how BC does it here:

that endpiece covers the normal adjuster and you use a small hex screw to lock it in so it won't come out.

Wow. Thanks for all the compliments. I had no intention of becoming a vendor and selling these. If there really is a market for them, I will ask my friend if he has any interest and apply for vendor status. Regarding the locking mechanism, I had thought that would be necessary too, but so far they have not moved a bit. I will see how I could make something like that to work with this setup. There are a few threads visible and a simple threaded collar that slides over a wider section of the aluminum tube that makes up the shaft would work well. If necessary I will incorporate that into version 2.

I'll buy a set if it can be used for the Tein Flex.
