| dances with roads | I'm not sure "ripped" is the right term. "Pulverized" is probably better. Thanks for sharing this information. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | ^ Dang... I saw some GF210s on a car locally and thought that I had noticed the exact same thing, but its had been a while and was wondering how much of it was my imagination... that pic confirms my memory was accurate. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (14) | The pic isn't that clear, but it doesn't look like those are reaching full bind, or at least I don't see any witness marks to indicate that they are. It is TOTALLY normal for the lower coils on the rears to be fully bound at static ride height, it keeps the spring seated at full droop. You should worry when you can see signs that ALL of the coils are contacting one another. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2006 Trader Rating: (2) | It's hard to tell from the picture, but I wouldn't rule out the coils touching. The marks to the right of the picture are very suspect. It could just be hitting on that side first which prevents the rest of the coil from showing marks. I'd have to find my measurements of the rear strut to see how many "dead coils" there can be before the spring's solid length becomes too long for the strut to reach full compression. The rear struts have a lot of travel, so lots of dead coils can be a problem. But yeah, all those winds on the bottom are dead coils and by design (for better or worse). IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | For reference, these are 18 month old Tanabe GF210s: ![]() I'm really hoping that Tanabe is going to step up on this... a refund isn't exactly enough when your spring snaps in two. |

| Authorized Vendor | And yet, that's the best they are going to offer. Warranty is for defects in the part. They don't cover hurt feelings. Sorry to say it that way, but that's the harsh reality of it. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
