They specifically marketed this spring to the daily driver looking for a cushier ride with better overall performance in handling. I for one will NEVER purchase again from RCE. That's my personal opinion and could care less what anyone else thinks. They made a ton of dough off these springs and we are left with our d**k in our hands just waiting to shell out more dough to fix whatever damage occurs while driving with these springs.

I had a set of the yellows installed in March and I only drive my car on weekends. I know for a fact that I am experiencing coil bind because the car feels like it's bottoming out way more than it ever did with the stock springs. Next Saturday the car is going in to check for the coil bind and I will post pics. Now I have to shell out more dough for different springs or swap back the stockers. Thanks for the waste of money RCE!! You will not get another penny of mine.
Thanks for the kind words It was not our intention to make you "shell out a bunch of dough" for a product you aren't satisfied with, but as you can see we are now doing all that we can to make this right. However, I must correct you when you say that we advertised these springs as providing a "cushier ride." That was never their intention, and they were always presented as a performance-oriented spring. Obviously we were also unaware of the coil bind issue, otherwise we would have made the necessary changes before.

RCE has always been good to me! +1 billion to you guys...

As for my pre-existing yellows (now have T2s). When I took them off and inspected them, there was EVER so slightly signs of coil bind. Not even as much as what's been posted. Personally, I loved the springs and never had problems with them bottoming out...you guys drive too crazy on pot-holed roads *mind you I live in back Socal streets*. Anyway, thank you RCE for all your GREAT products and obviously awesome customer service...you can have all my money! Not really, but some of it. haha

Kind Regards,
Ryan

Wow Myles and crew what an awesome thing to do!

I admit I was worried for a little bit that I was going to have to replace my springs and loose money.

Going to find my invoice.

Just as I have come to expect from RCE, always standing by your work. I'm sorry that you guys haven't had any of my business yet, but you can probably expect a suspension purchase from me in the next year, be it your struts, the RB320's, or T2's.

If there is anyone in my area (NW WA) that will need to do this swap, I will be more than willing to help you at your place or mine. Don't pay for the swap, it's too easy.

I'll opt for the RCE yellows if I can get a discount.

Does this mean the black normal guy springs will be put on hold because you guys are trying to get the revised yellow springs out to the customer's that have the defective front springs?

+1 for everyone at racecomp for fixing this issue.

Matt

The manufacturer overnighted us a set of the Version 2 Yellows for inspection and testing and they are now being tested on my car with excellent results. No signs of coil bind whatsoever...I will be taking plenty of pictures tomorrow. So if you have the V1 Yellows and you have coil bind issues, give us a call with your full name and invoice number (if you still have it) and we will send you out a new pair of the updated front springs.

Now that is stepping up to the plate. Much appreciated. We are still out the $$$ for the installation cost, however this is an acceptable compromise, in my opinion. Thanks for stepping up to the plate to take care of your customers.

Tried to inspect the springs last night with the car on the floor, but there wasn't enough room/light to see. Going to lift the car this weekend and check it out.

Big thanks to RCE for provinding excellent customer support! Though I'll be a bit put off if I have to swap out the springs again and get the car re-aligned, at least I know that RCE stands behind their product/customers and is doing the right thing!

Yeah RCE is doing a great thing. Its something i wasn't even expecting. The great thing is I have a camber plate i want to install so taking the spring out will only add like a minute to my installation.

Anyone remember those GM or Isuzu cars that had suspension by Lotus or whatever stickers on the cars? I think the new RCE springs should have re-engineered by strech printed on them!! It would be nice touch!

Thanks for all your research stretch. You are a real asset to our community!

NO! These changes were put into effect long before this thread was even started. I personally knew of these changes about 2 months ago. So giving that type of credit to strech is completely misplaced.

Thanks for clearing that up Dan These changes were NOT made overnight, we have been working on the issue for some time now. We didn't want to say anything until we had the solution finalized and the revised springs in our hands but this thread caught us a bit off guard. Like I said, the new springs are on my car and I have had a chance to drive some of the roughest roads I could find. No signs of coil bind and everything looks good. I took some pics today, uploading them as we speak.
