Haha It was pretty stupid Ben, I just needed to impact it a little more when the strut was out... oh well, easy fix and I got some useful tools (GearRatchets) too (I'll post pics of that as soon as I get time to download the damn pictures!)

Here's all the pictures I have right now:

It looks lower in that last picture than it really is, the shadows are messing with it

Scott, are those stock tires? They don't look like RE070s, and that might be why yours looks low, too...

My Tires are 245/40/17 Advan Neova AD07s... so not the same as stock, but are they a tad shorter???

The springs came used, supposedly with a few hundred miles on them from someone on this forum, as well as the RCE plates that I got from RAC1000. Weird that mine doesn't look as even in the front compared to the back still... is that from the tires?

245/40 is really close to 225/45 sidewall... it's only .1" shorter. Maybe it makes a visual difference though

FWIW, my springs and plates were both new.

here's a pic of the Lowering plates from RCE's site:

Here's a pic of my plates (ignore the broken nut...its been fixed):

and here's RCE's pic of NON-Lowering plates:

I wonder if the black center part (part that connects to strut piston) is indicative of the lowering vs. non-lowering plates... as on their site they show two different color schemes...

hmmmmmmmm....

I bought them used under the pretense that they were LOWERING... I wonder if I got f-ed in the A on that??? Or is the color scheme just a fluke?

Myles? Anyone who knows care to comment???

I bought lowering plates from RCE directly (got them two weeks ago, most recent batch) and mine are ALL black (the entire plate is black)

If you look at the pictures you posted, you'll see that the black plates are "shallower" than the silver ones. In other words, the silver ones have a taller side wall (top of the plate down to the triangle part where the bolts are). The taller plate is the lowering plate.

the color of the plates tells you. look at the height of the two. there is a definitel difference.

The color scheme is NOT indicative of whether the plates are lowering or non-lowering. We sometimes get the plates in black and sometimes in gold, no real meaning behind it. The only way to differentiate between the two is to look at the bottom of the plate. If the pillowball is recessed it's lowering. If the pillowball looks like it's level with the bottom of the plate it's non-lowering. Nan is correct that the body of the non-lowering plate is not quite as tall as well.

Yes, there is a clear difference in height, but the color of the plates aren't necessarily the indicator anymore (as mine were black).

You pretty much just get what you get. Usually the manufacturer surprises us

Cherry blossom.

Actually, I have a set of non-slipping camber plates already.

Nope, just a different color for anodizing.
