It was pretty stupid Ben, I just needed to impact it a little more when the strut was out... oh well, easy fix and I got some useful tools (GearRatchets) too Here's all the pictures I have right now: It looks lower in that last picture than it really is, the shadows are messing with it ![]() Scott, are those stock tires? They don't look like RE070s, and that might be why yours looks low, too... This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | My Tires are 245/40/17 Advan Neova AD07s... so not the same as stock, but are they a tad shorter??? The springs came used, supposedly with a few hundred miles on them from someone on this forum, as well as the RCE plates that I got from RAC1000. Weird that mine doesn't look as even in the front compared to the back still... is that from the tires? |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (11) | 245/40 is really close to 225/45 sidewall... it's only .1" shorter. Maybe it makes a visual difference though ![]() FWIW, my springs and plates were both new. Last edited by nandanrp; 11-09-2007 at 01:47 PM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | here's a pic of the Lowering plates from RCE's site: ![]() Here's a pic of my plates (ignore the broken nut...its been fixed): and here's RCE's pic of NON-Lowering plates: ![]() I wonder if the black center part (part that connects to strut piston) is indicative of the lowering vs. non-lowering plates... as on their site they show two different color schemes... hmmmmmmmm.... I bought them used under the pretense that they were LOWERING... I wonder if I got f-ed in the A on that??? Or is the color scheme just a fluke? Myles? Anyone who knows care to comment??? |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (11) | I bought lowering plates from RCE directly (got them two weeks ago, most recent batch) and mine are ALL black (the entire plate is black) ![]() If you look at the pictures you posted, you'll see that the black plates are "shallower" than the silver ones. In other words, the silver ones have a taller side wall (top of the plate down to the triangle part where the bolts are). The taller plate is the lowering plate. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 Trader Rating: (10) | The color scheme is NOT indicative of whether the plates are lowering or non-lowering. We sometimes get the plates in black and sometimes in gold, no real meaning behind it. The only way to differentiate between the two is to look at the bottom of the plate. If the pillowball is recessed it's lowering. If the pillowball looks like it's level with the bottom of the plate it's non-lowering. Nan is correct that the body of the non-lowering plate is not quite as tall as well. -Dan |
