IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | Just be careful when tightening that down... I had a brain fade and used the torque setting last used (to tighten wheel lugs) on the 17mm top bolt. I got lucky and the only one that the shaft didn't spin on me I did a stupid on: ugh this is what it SHOULD look like Otherwise you have to use a strap wrench on the shaft to hold it still while torquing down. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | Well... thought I'd bump this thread since its relevant... I got the replacement struts (Thanks bgod!!!) and everything is back to road worthy. I ended up not cutting my stock bumpstops and left them in there as-is. I figured that STi and Subaru knew what they were doing and based on Stretch's thread regarding bumpstops and my having the whiteline sways I don't mind some bumpstop induced understeer to counter the new tendency to rotate from the bars. So... here are some pics of the JDM Pinks on RCE lowering plates... sorry for the quality they were taken with my phone: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'll try to take some better ones to show the gap a little better when I get a chance and post them again. I also noticed some clunking after the spring install, but quickly found out that the read endlinks started to work loose. And today I noticed the fronts too, and am sure its the same thing. Should we put loctite (blue) on the endlinks??? |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | That looks great! I recently installed pro-drives and have been unhappy with the gap in the front. I was thinking of getting the RCE lowering CP's as you did to correct the issue. Do you feel that was a good choice? I wish you wouldn't have put both springs/plates on at the same time so you could do a comparo... I'm just afraid I'll put the plates on and it will still be too high... |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2006 Trader Rating: (2) | I dunno, the white one still looks dumped in the rear, where the silver one has an even drop. The springs on the white one, were they brand new when installed, or used (read - settled?) This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
