do you have ALK installed on your car? if not, put some on and then you'll notice even more how great the handling changes.

Actually have one sitting in the garage waiting to go on next weekend along with an alignment, a perrin pulley, and steering rack bushings

hoping i can grab some brake pads before then too, my stockers are about done.

Just went out for more driving...with the coilovers set at 5 out of 30 and the x-brace keeping the rear composed and responsive, the car reminds me of the bmw z4 coupe i drove a few months back. The backend is very tight and responsive and the ride quality is smooth and firm. Its cool to get into the car and the car doesn't move anymore when I sit down. Feels like a very solid platform.

Installed my CL X-Brace last night. Overall was pretty easy, but lining up the holes was a b**ch. The brace overall is all worth it! The X-brace is a great modification that enhances other suspension upgrades that you may have.

Would you say this makes the car behave more neutrally or oversteer slightly? Any reduction of understeer with this mod?

Let me find out

Problem is my alignment is still jacked up so I couldn't give you an accurate answer right now.

Hmm, I am still trying to decide what to do first, the X-brace or Cobb sway bars? What would you recommend twiSTies?

I know that for the money (well, guess that depends on what brand of sways you're getting) the sways will make a huge difference right away. I don't know anyone personally who owns the X-Brace alone, without sways.

swaybars. no question about it, they're the first suspension mod to do on the STi after an alignment.

With all of the more recent information regarding stock STi suspension, and assuming we are talking about a daily driven vehicle, I think I would recommend shortening the front bumpstops first, followed by a performance alignment (read: dial in as much negative front camber as you can/are comfortable with) followed by an X-Brace. See how that feels before doing anything with swaybars.

Neither, the X-brace does not effect oversteer or understeer at all on its own.

What the X-brace does is remove chassis flex allowing steering inputs to be more accurate and more responsive. Roughly 10% better by our calculations.

This therefore will allow you to understeer or oversteer the car depending on your driving style. You simply have improved control of the car and with that control you can do whatever you want.

Remember, understeer or oversteer is just as dependent on the driver as it is on the car. With a poor line, I could get in a S2000 and tell you it understeers and vice versa.

I personally recommend the X-brace before any suspension mod, but especially any adjustable suspension mod. The X-brace allows you to have a more accurate feel for the chassis and what it is doing and in turn what the adjustments are doing.

I'm not sure if you know what I'm trying to describe, but both nuts should be away from the body of the connector and towards the strut tower and center X.

Like this:
/strut tower/=====(NUT)<----|connector|---->(NUT)===/X\===(NUT)<----|connector|---->(NUT)=====\strut tower\

Instead of:
/strut tower/=====<----(NUT)|connector|(NUT)---->===/X\===<----(NUT)|connector|(NUT)---->=====\strut tower\
