I know this is off topic, but VSGTS14, your car is HOT!

Ok, last few days I got this type of mod in my head. I want to keep the stock under tray to reduce drag on long straight aways. Any of these after market sub frames allow you to keep your stock under tray?

If not, how bad will the drag be without the under tray? I would think my top speed on straight aways would drop due to more air turbulence under the car. If that is the case, I am not sure this mod is right for me.

Any thoughts?

I bought the Carbing sub-frame which is very light and good priced. Since I will be installing a full roll cage, it is exactly what I need. There's even mounting location for the stock under tray too.

Honestly, you don't really need a sub frame brace or even keep the stock one in there if you are not seriously tracking or full time racing your car. With only a VERY stiff suspension you will benefit from the stiffer sub frame brace.

I do indeed have a VERY stiff suspension setup. How ever I would like to make the car even stiffer. I track my car also. I am thinking, after market sub frame brace and TIC fender braces would hopefully stiffen things up, and take some weight off the front end with the sub frame brace.

I have the RPM Sub-frame brace and the TiC fender braces and there is a noticeable improvement in stiffness. I installed the RPM brace first and that seems to account for the majority of the improvement. The fender braces (at least when installed after the sub-frame brace) did not produce a detectable improvement but should contribute something.

RPM was developing a solution for the undertray. Hopefully he will chime in here.

In regards to weight, just go with the aluminum RPM brace...it's under 10 lbs.

Does anyone know if the Carbing subframe will fit their own brand aluminum undertray?

I would hope Carbing's parts would work with each other.

The Do-Luck one is light too and works with the stock undertray. This is the one Phil uses on his Element time attack car in conjuction with a roll-cage.

I have the aluminum RPM one and it's super light. However, until James comes out with the tray for it, it won't work with the stocker.
