Group N tops

How do you know, or how can you tell if you have group N top mounts installed. When I bought my STI, it came with some suspension components already in place.......wondering if I have these or not??

they should have a green paint dot. check my FS link below. the dot on the rubber may have worn out though, but the hidden on (when installed) should still be there.

any other markings that will tell, I really dont want to take off the suspension to see. Thanks for the info though..

nope. only the paint dab will tell. though the rubber will be stiff if you push your fingernail into it.

they are the exact same, save the stiffness of the rubber. this goes for most any group n piece.

so just push on the portion in between the rings on the top then? It should feel about how hard? sorry for dumb questions.

just felt mine. i can't get a fingernail to dent them at all.

pink splotch = stock hats

green or white splotch = group n

compare them side by side with another STi...you'll know if yours are stiffer - its quite significant

Another question regarding the Top hats ..
Do i need to get them for both the front and rear or is it like the endlinks where getting the rear ones is highly recommended while the front ones are good to have ?

Also, anyone know where would be a good place to get them from ?

That is entirely up to you. Some go with the GroupN hardened tophats for the front and rear while others go with the rears only and opt for a camber plate up front. I bought mine from SpeedElement/MPJ and I got the best price. The rears do cost more than the fronts.
