Very nice, good to hear that they perform just as well for you on the track as they do on the street

Good to hear that the daily driving aspect has improved so much over RCE springs...My 500F/400R T2s should be here in the next 2 weeks or so and I almost dont want to drive my car until they get here with the ride being the way it with the bumps I go over everyday. I find myself cringing on a regular basis right now..good to hear its not just me who feels this way. The car is pretty damn good on the track with the RCE springs which is one of the main reasons I bought them so Im not at all dissatisfied.

We installed some GC coilovers in my roommates E36 M3 with 500F/600R springs and the ride quality is so much better than mine so I know that high spring rates can be usable for daily driving when the shocks arent garbage.

Since someone was asking about this comparison today I though I would throw in a longer term review.

I used the full track/auto-x settings for the first time on the weekend on a dry smooth auto-x course. Again the car was really well balanced, a little tail happy for the first run but also really easy to spin the tires. Once I got some heat into the tires then car went back to very neutral on the second run. With the current setup the car is a little looser in the back but as I got used to it I actually liked the feeling.

I got tired/lazy sunday night and didn't change the settings back to daily driver - Do not try to drive to work with the track settings unless you have really smooth roads. Not only was it really harsh but the car lost a lot of grip skipping in corners. Back to daily driver settings today and it's nice and smooth again.

In generally I like the 500/400 rates but I'm thinking that this is very much a compromise. They are amazing for handling but if this was a pure street car I could see using the 400/350 rates.

Also the car seems to want more tires that the stock ones, it feels so stable on the full track settings that you can clearly feel that the tires are the limiting factor.

Glad to hear everything is still working out for you. Obviously the settings are just baselines so if the rear feels a bit loose, you might try taking out a click or two of compression. If it's skipping over bumps, maybe dial out a little rebound. Play with it, that's the beauty of adjustability

On the skid pan the car was very neutral, very slight understeer at the limit, could not get the back end to come around under power but on a figure 8 setup it would drift/power very nice on the exit. With a lot of pressure in the rear tires (hot day, skid pan, forgot to check the pressure) I had very fun power off or trail brake rotation.

In some double lane change exercises the instructors comments were " doesn't this car know there are laws of physics?" The car was like a go-kart.

On the auto-x sunday it was very cold and the car would tend to push a little in the corners but was amazingly flat and well controlled on transitions.

Track II Bumpy Track Settings
Highway cruising - fine, almost like the comfort settings.
Highway pot holes and joints - pretty similar to the RCE springs on stock struts. A little less bang over bit bumps but I'll be changing back to comfort for the week days.
Sweeping corners - this is fun, so much grip and the negative camber really helps.
Rotarys - again very composed, especially on the exit when you are switching the steering direction.
Backstreets - didn't really push it.
Auto-x - very good. Flat and very neutral, I'm guessing they took a second or more off my times when I compare my times to other's. It really felt like the limit ont he car was the RE070's and that the suspension could take a lot more grip without a problem. On some corners the car would understeer a little and others the back end would just start to come around under trail braking but never anything that a small steering adjustment would not take care off. I took a few friends that were also running their STi's out and they all commented on how flat and go-kart like the car was.
I missed this when I was on vacation....thanks for the feedback on the bumpy/conservative settings!

Most people go straight to the regular track settings, so I haven't heard as much back on these settings.

The results you described are exactly what I was hoping for. Somethng with a balance not quite as aggressive as the all-out track settings, but still very flat. Slight understeer on the track, but very composed, controllable, and confidence inspiring.

Or maybe I could quit being lazy and I could change back to the daily driver settings. The only time it really skipped on the street was when I was to tired to change it off full track and tried to drive to work. If I run the daily driver settings like I normally do it's fine.
