IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (15) | From what I've read, RCE is the way to go. Any dissenters? I plan on running ZZYZX coilovers (OR... the RCE version of the KW3 if money becomes an object)... anybody know if the ZZYZX will work with the RCE camber plates? I'm also running a Carbing Strut Brace so that eliminates camber plates like the Ground Control ones. Other options I've read about are PDE, Cusco (probably my 2nd choice), Noltec, and Whiteline. If I go with RCE, should I get the lowering or non-lowering ones? Right now, if I don't plan on getting coilovers due to money, it would be nice to get the lowering ones and have the front lower by 3/8" since with all the weight reduction I've done, the car has actually RAISED by about 3/8" which is really annoying.... but assuming that isn't a factor, is there any advantage of the lowering vs. the non-lowering ones? It might not seem like a big deal with coilovers because you can always adjust the hieght. However the fronts are already pretty starved for travel and using a lowering plate gives you that much more to work with. |

| Junior STI Driver | I've got PDE's for my coilovers (lowering isn't an issue with height adjustment) and the pre-drilled holes make going from my track/auto-x setup to my street setup VERY easy. If you don't want to run aggressive camber all the time, this is the way to go. |

FWIW, I think they have the best design. They add suspension travel like RCE but still have caster adjustment. And the spring and strut shaft are each supported by their own bearing to distribute the load- nobody else does this.

I have a set sitting in the garage waiting for my T2 install. RCE would have been my second choice. I just like the repeatability of the PDE.

IMO the only plates that can compete in terms of quality are the PDEs, which are also very nice. The main problem is PDE's customer service is horrendous. The new Whiteline plates look decent but although we carry them as well, almost everyone we deal with orders our own plates. Brands like Cusco are good low cost alternatives but I have seen the fronts fail before. And FYI, you can get a bit more caster out of the RCE plates by putting the left plate on the right and vice versa, although you do sacrifice a little camber |
