No camber plates yet made actually allow for what you are doing. Changing the camber drastically changes toe. So unless you are adjusting toe when you adjust your plates you'll either have toe in or toe out problems.

That's very true. Some auto-x guys have their street settings at modest camber and 0 toe and when they dial in more camber, they get some toe out, which is a good thing (for most people). However, I would never put my car on a road course at high speed without knowing my alignment was exactly where I wanted it.

I went from -.75 camber to -1.75 camber in the front with camber plates and my toe didn't appear to change...at least based on my measurements. Perhaps that isn't considered drastic??

1.0 degree of negative camber is good for about 1/4 inch of toe-out. At least according to Darrin at West End, if that means anything. I know CGMDan got quite a bit more than that, so YMMV.

I don't know. The GC camber plates say for 2.5" inner diameter coilovers. I really don't see any difference between GC design tophats and other coilovers, so I suspect they will work.

Interesting....I guess I better double check mine although it drives just fine on the expressway. It was my understanding that lowering is what really throws your toe off?

Unfortunatly I don't remember exactly what it was but it was something like 0.5 deg toe change for every 1 deg camber change, per side. I'll have to get it back in the shop and actually take notes this time.

Regardless of the exact change, it was enough to convince me you wouldn't want to do it like that.

Pde and RCE are both good. It just depends on if you wanna have a castor adjustment. If you do get the PDE's.

OK so I just got off the phone with my alignment guy. Sounds like both Greg and myself are in agreement. a toe change of .25 inch = .5 degree.

And this is just on one side. I don't think a total of 1 degree of toe out is a good thing in anyones book.

Back on subject.

RCE's and PDE's are both good plates. I obviously have the RCE's. But if they weren't avalable I would have picked up the PDE's.

Darrin set a friends car up as follows.

• RCE lowering plates set to full negative, camber bolt adjusted to provide -2.5 degrees of camber. Toe not set at this point.
  
• RCE plates pulled back to provide -1.5, then toe set to 0.
  
• Plates repositioned to -2.5 - total toe-out measured to be .25 (both sides)

I realize this is far less toe out than you were seeing, which why I added the YMMV.

I have a CARBING strut brace so the GC ones are out. I guess it's down to PDE and RCE.
