Default RCE T2 vs. Bilstein Pss9

what would be better for spirited Daily Driver, 20% competition(2/3 drag, 1/3 auto-x). there roads here are way less then civil(really crappy)

The Bilsteins are nice if you don't want a lot of trouble, they're one way adjustable. From what I hear people like them a lot and would probably meet your needs but I would personally go for the T2's, great product and i'm pretty sure you can adjust them to be of stock ride quality if not better.

If adjustability is something you have to have, T2's. But if high quality is your goal, Bilstein FTW.

After seeing the fitment of the bilsteins on a couple cars now, RCE T2's all the way.

Is there a reason why you consider the T2's to be of low quality?

IMO not much room for tires.

We installed a set of 04 coilovers on an 04 STi, and RE070s with 17x8 +48, the tires contacted the helper spring, we could have taken that off, but then it would hit the spring or locking collar. Stock top hats, no camber bolts.

We installed a set on an 05 STi, stock wheels with 245 RE01r's, the tires would contact the locking perch and the springs, so we raised the rear all the way up, and it doesn't rub any more. That is with camber plates at full negative, and no camber bolts.

Both of these cars only had the problem on the rear. Fronts were fine, except the 04 the knob on the bottom was very close to the boot on the axle, which made it hard to adjust.

But, others have installed the 05s, and seem to like them. So i really don't know what we are doing wrong, IMO there isn't much to do wrong on an install like that, and with no camber bolts in the rear.

Thats sucks about the pss9 fit... well FWIW... my T2's in the rear have a lot of room. I have my cusco plates set to what looks to be bout full neg setting, then we have the upper bolt set at full positive in the slot, this is the most advantageous as far as tire clearance, now with my 17x8 stock wheels (53 offset) and 245/40/17 neovas you can stick your hand between the tire and coilover with even a little bit more room.

Well, these guys weren't happy with that either, they were both planning on going with 18x9s as well, only chance with that is a low offset, and lots of fender rolling.

That's good to hear Andrew....your friend at the autox was running 275's on his T2's also...what did he have to do to clear everything & which wheels did he run...?

Also curious if anyone knows how much droop travel the PSS9's and T2's have?

Yep, I was happy. I am ordering 17x9's soon with 245 tires (STU). Aaron, my friend locally that has the T2's as well (same rates) with the 17x9 I plan to use (5zigen) has 275 v710's and isnt having issues with rubbing inboard our outboard (04, rolled). I am not sure HOW much inboard room he has, but it has to be pretty decent.

I was impressed with the amount of droop these t2's have. Much better than what I have seen on many japanese coilovers, but still not like stock or zzyzx.

I had no inside rear lift issues, I spied a little lifting (looked like pre throttle application, which is fine... imo) on Aarons car, granted he has 275 v710s vs. my 245 streets. Oh and we both have the same sway bars (set to 29 front for both, and im at 24 rear and hes at 26 rear I think....)
