| Junior STI Driver | I just this exact same thing. Drive the car as little as possible. You have two options, either replace the mount or take the mount out and have a new bolt pressed in. If you have aftermarket mounts, you might be able to slide the group n rubber off and install it on your stock mount. |

| Grassroots STI Racer | helps keep the rear differential stiffer so you won't hear the clunk when shifting fast and hard. btw, how do you get a new bolt pressed in? Quote:

| Junior STI Driver | I actually did not pursue that route, but call your mechanic, he can do it. I am assuming you have the group N mounts right? If so, see if the rubber on your stock onces can be pulled off. If so, swap the rubber from the group N with the STI, then use the STI mount with the group N rubber. There is no difference. That is what I did. Next time I am at my mechanic, I am going to also have the bolt pressed in so that I have a complete set again. |

| Lurker | Just in case this is still an issue... I did the same thing when I put the STI mounts on my 2002 WRX. I took the old mount, put a nut on the end of one of the studs to protect the threads and pounded it out with a rubber hammer. Then pounded out the broken stud and tapped in the good one. The base of the stud has splines on it that keep it from turning, it is not a real difficult press fit. If you didn't replace the mount and therefore didn't have a source of spare studs, you could just put a bolt through the hole and have someone hold the bottom with a wrench while you tighten the top.
