Default Yellow fluid on bottom of strut?

Got a nice suprise tonight, installed RCE springs, sways and top hats last monday and was getting a few pops from the suspension going over uneven roads. It got worse especially at the drivers front wheel.

Looked under there tonight and there is a fair bit of yellow fluid on the bottom of the strut. Can anyone tell me if this is the fluid out of the dampener or from somewhere else around there?

In addition the front tip of the sway bar has a little metal burred off just near the bolt for the end link?

thanks
davidd

Sadly it most likely is. What struts are on the car, and how many miles.

Stock struts, 14K miles. Got a similar answer from RCE that it looks like a blown strut.

I have to add RCE service is amazing. I called tonight after hours to leave a message, got Myles and spend a while talking to him about what may have happened. I'll update once I get this worked out.

he's running WL 27mm fronts and 24 rears.

What would cause this problems??? I'm just curious because mine are goin on within a week and I just want to be aware of any install inssues that might need to be avoided.

sorry to hear that dave you just got those things on too.

Don't know what actually broke/caused the problem, I will look once it's out.
The actual events were I had some poping noise a week after the install and then it let go on a pot hole last night before I got a chance to have the poping noises checked..

Talked to Myles/RCE - they have not heard of this happening before, especially the fronts with such low milage.

RCE hooked me up big time with a replacment strut so I can still do a driving day this weekend.

Ordered Tarmac2's and will install once they arrive so I can get them rebuit instead of replaced.

The full history is - I had some popping of the suspension all around the car for the first day or so after the install (springs, sways, end link, top hats) but then it subsided to almost nothing for a few days. Just under a week after install I started to hear more and more poping from the front drivers side corner even when just turning the steering and pot holes/dips were pretty harsh booked it in to be checked the next day. Then last night I hit a average sized one and felt/hear a really loud bang, drove home and the car felt like that corner would dip when turning but I took it really easy. Got it up on ramps and checked all the bolts etc untill I saw the yellow fluid all over the bottom of the strut around the nut.
