Default You know your car's too low when...

...you can't pull into your driveway after installing your V-Limited lip. I'm lower on Cobb springs and Group-N Tophats (which don't lower/raise any afaik). I would have scraped for sure. I wasn't going to scrape my $475 lip if i dont have to. I had to pull the lip off on the side of the street.

Anyone know if the RCE springs lower less than the Cobbs? I only need a little leeway. I'm about to order some RCEs regardless. Just curious because if not i'll sell the lip.

Car is lower than it looks in the pic. Those are my Takata LDS ramps in the corners. They slid barely under the lip at 8cm tall. if they were half a mm taller they wouldn't have fit without touching the lip.

Yeah I hear you, i'll tell you what go from driving a one-ton 4x4 dually to a STi and realize you can no longer drive over certain things or go over a speed bump without stopping. I know mine sits low but I cant imagine how careful you have to be. Looks good though!

The RCEs lower quite similarly to those of Cobb. If you really wanted to keep the lip...I would wait for the "regular" RCE springs to come out as they do not drop much...if at all. Also, Prodrives might fit your needs as well. I have to sell my lip on my 06 because I installed my RCEs and the car sits too low now...with the lip on. I might switch out to the RCE regular springs when they come out and after I have read a few reviews as well as seen pictures. Otherwise, Tarmac 2s here I come!

Is your car your daily driver? If so, that lip will need to come off before next winter (at least we hope it won't snow again until next winter). Otherwise, that lip acts as an expensive and fragile snow plow, especially if you are driving on unplowed, rutted streets. And that is on a stock ride height STi.

same thing happened to me, only mine snapped after a dip going into a public parking lot. At least it lasted about a year. I'm on the Cobb springs too. It's a shame because the car looks perfect with the lip.

RCE's lower the car less than Cobb's. The drop on Cobb's is 2" in the front, and I think RCE's are like 1.3" or something. I scraped my V-Limited many a time with Cobb's installed. I recently picked up a wagon and was going to transfer my V-Limited to the wagon, but since the wagon is on Tein coilovers (and pretty low at that), I may go with a replica instead. I can't stand the thought of busting up a $500 piece. $200......not so bad!!!

I finally decided to take off my V-Limited Lip and only install it for track days. I got tired of slowing down for those sweet jumps. j/k

Otherwise you can keep it on and then crack your lip like I did to mine. I had it on for about 3 mos now and haven't had a chance to get my coilovers ajusted to raise my car up.

i think that ~3/4" may be enough for me to clear my driveway atleast. My driveway's curb isn't even that tall or steep.

hmm any idea when the regular RCEs are coming out? prodrives lower 20mm all around correct? those were the ones i was going to get before i got the cobbs. i hear of a lot of people switching out the prodrives for the RCE and liking the performance results

i just want the best spring, i'm not wrried about drop. pinks maybe?

I currently have the RCE springs with PDE front camber plates and it gave just enough lift for me to be able to make it into my driveway, looks a bit uneven but its practical... and its what makes Subaru a Subaru.

Here you go... not a great view (Same picture I put over in the RCE review thread).

I'll measure my front clearance when I get an opportunity and post it up.
