It almost feels like torque steer but I've felt it while not on the throttle. Its as if the steering wheel is springing back to center very quicky. I've only had the car about 4 hours now!! :-P

I can tell you its faster than my M3, and stops better. But it doesnt turn in as well, nothing that cant be fixed in a few weeks time though!

Is this springy-ness normal? It doesnt feel right to me. Somthing feels off in the alignment or something... I cant tell what it is yet... any ideas?

i think you are just feeling the road.. i get that often on a not so smooth road.. i never really feel the bumps but on a crappy road i feel it pull more.. but once i get it back on a smooth road its great again...
but yeah i notice that too... use to bother me but not so much now, cuz i know nothing is wrong..
i love the steering.. great control i think
its considered one of the downsides but it is a rally car.. setup for street :-/ but if you were to use it for rally you would love the steering more...

I dont think its the road, my M3 with wider tires follows the road a lot. This is more of a "return to center" thing. If it was following the road it would pull left and right, this is always a spring back to center.

if you are on the throttle when doing this it may be the front wheels and front LSD tending to pull the car straight. It's something that RWD guys need to get used to about AWD or FWD cars.

I've noticed it too and I actually like it. Maybe with the AWD, the car just wants to always stay going straight b/c it's is pushing and pulling on all fours? I love how, if on a slightly rough road, if you let go for a sec, the car tracks straight through.

actually, it just seemed to me that the STi has much less power steering assist than most cars. My previous ride was a 97 Grand Prix GT (FWD), and at 90mph you could turn that thing with one finger, and hold it through a corner.

With the STi, at 90 its a two-handed deal. I really really really (yea that much) like the tension of the wheel when driving the car hard, but it can get alittle tiresome for a casual cruise down a twisty road- but hey, who wants to cruise casually in an STi?
