| Junior STI Driver | After a recent fender-bender (right rear wheel vs. curb--wheel lost), which required replacing the rear passenger side lateral links, the wheel bearings, and of course the wheel itself, TWO alignment shops cannot get ride of the significant toe-in! I'm wondering what else could be bent that would cause this to be the case. I've crawled around under there, loosened and retightened all the lateral link bolts; the camber-bolt is turned fully inward... Could the part of the hub assembly to which the lateral links attatch be bent? I could go ahead and purchase some adjustable lateral links (Whiteline, part number KTA107) and camber bolts, but if I should go back to the repair shop for further diagnosis and repair, then insurance would pick up the added cost, not me. Experience and thoughts are welcomed--Thanks!--Tim This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. Last edited by timb; 03-27-2007 at 09:41 AM. | Halliburton Mercenary | no help here, but i would definitely let the shop try and work it out first. you have insurance for a reason. i wouldn't use a band-aid (adj. lateral links) to fix the problem. |

If your camber is way out then the factory cam bolts won't be able to adjust the toe back into specs. Def do not get any after market parts to fix this problem. There is something wrong that needs to be addressed before you change anythig else back there. |

| Junior STI Driver | New spindle was installed, here are the NEW alignment specs: FL: Caster 5.0, Camber -1.1, Toe 0.00 FR: Caster 5.0, Camber -1.0, Toe -0.05 RL: Camber -1.5, Toe 0.00 RR: Camber -1.5, Toe 0.10 Not perfect, but definitely better. Question though for those in the know: On our cars what is the conversion for degrees to millimeters? i.e., toe out of -0.05 degrees equals how many milimeters toe out? Tim |
