If you are thinking the new RCE ones, those are about $2700 with front/rear RCE hats vice $1700 right now for a complete 2r set w/top hats $1K difference

I actually hit the wrench with a hammer to get the perch tight enough to not come loose.

Still well within the sub-$4k range There are a few others which are in that range as well, but if we are talking the sub-$2k range including camber plates, etc. then I agree it's tough to beat the 2R's. RCE carries the Cuscos as well, so I'm not COMPLETELY biased.

Yes you do! Oops, there, you did start an argument!

Just kiddin'!

Suspension brands/settings are prob the most subjective and least prove-able aspects of a car. If I thought that spending morre than double on my suspension was worth it, then I would have.

The first $2k spent on a $3k suspension set up is a lot more valuable than the last $2k spent on a $10k set up.

I know that better suspension is available, but for the $, I think I have the best possible set up after a lot of research, careful planning, and proper instal/alignment. As proof, I have yet to be beaten by any car with similar (or even double) the $ spent on their set up and I can back that up with published results.

I agree, and there are a lot of people out there successfully racing on 2R's. In a lot of situations, you are paying more money for ride quality in addition to performance. The Cuscos are not as forgiving as some of the european coilovers, but I'm sure if I had a chance to test them on the track they wouldn't disappoint. Obviously a coilover that is only adjustable for rebound has certain limitations that more expensive 2-way (or more) coilovers don't, but for the price the Cuscos are pretty nice.

Thats quite a statement. I paid less than $4k for my Ohlins Flag series. You'd prefer Zero2rs?

huh. Interesting statement.

Exactly what I was saying. They are great for the money, but in the sub-$4k range they simply cannot compare to the Ohlins Sportlines or Flags or the KW V3's/RCE's, or even AST Racelines. Even Moton Clubsports are technically sub-$4k, although once you add in the cost of springs and top mounts they are quite a bit more. If we are talking sub-$2k including camber plates, etc. then the conversation gets more interesting.

All I can say about sub $4k COMPLETE CO's is: bring it on boys! I'll put my $2k Cuscos against your stuff any day (I do all the time!).

Hey Boost, I might be mistaken but I believe that the single knob adjuster on Zero 2R's effect both rebound and compression. They may not be as forgiving or supple as some more expensive units but for the track (which is what I bought them for...), they are good. I woulda bought a BMW if I wanted a more gentle car, esp if I didnt mind going slower and getting beat by STI's.

Besides, when I want comfort and luxury, I drive my motorhome with queen bed, surround sound, full bath, kitchen, couch, etc... For those more aggro days, I got me a Cusco equiped STI!

On topic: Mine started making noises on the rears too, so im going to check all the things everybody said in this thread. If that doesnt fix it ill just think of it as one if the quirks of this car.

Off topic: I am in love with my zero2rs as well. I was somewhat worried the ride would be overly harsh, but set at 3 the ride actually seems a lot better than my rce spring/stock strut combo.

On topic, turn up radio...

Also,

Try jacking up the rear and using a long prybar to put press up on the tires. Hopefully that will reveal the noise and then the source.

The Ohlins Flags are complete, with camber plates and pillow balls included for the "under $4000" price.

I'll be straightforward and say that if you think Tien Zero2r's are better than Flags, I think you are smoking low grade marijuana.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I dont do drugs anymore.

Take cocaine for instance, I dont snort it anymore but I do like to smell it vigorously! Just kidding..... I dont even drink. Nyquil gets me buzzed now.

I have yet to be beat by any flag equiped car. Also, I would still rather have my complete setup for under $4k complete (incl alignment and corner balancing) than flags and nothing else. I wouldnt want top line Ohlins or Motons etc if they werent part of a well sorted package.
