There are a few others which are in that range as well, but if we are talking the sub-$2k range including camber plates, etc. then I agree it's tough to beat the 2R's. RCE carries the Cuscos as well, so I'm not COMPLETELY biased.

![]() Just kiddin'! Suspension brands/settings are prob the most subjective and least prove-able aspects of a car. If I thought that spending morre than double on my suspension was worth it, then I would have. The first $2k spent on a $3k suspension set up is a lot more valuable than the last $2k spent on a $10k set up. I know that better suspension is available, but for the $, I think I have the best possible set up after a lot of research, careful planning, and proper instal/alignment. As proof, I have yet to be beaten by any car with similar (or even double) the $ spent on their set up and I can back that up with published results.

In a lot of situations, you are paying more money for ride quality in addition to performance. The Cuscos are not as forgiving as some of the european coilovers, but I'm sure if I had a chance to test them on the track they wouldn't disappoint. Obviously a coilover that is only adjustable for rebound has certain limitations that more expensive 2-way (or more) coilovers don't, but for the price the Cuscos are pretty nice. |

All I can say about sub $4k COMPLETE CO's is: bring it on boys! I'll put my $2k Cuscos against your stuff any day (I do all the time!). Hey Boost, I might be mistaken but I believe that the single knob adjuster on Zero 2R's effect both rebound and compression. They may not be as forgiving or supple as some more expensive units but for the track (which is what I bought them for...), they are good. I woulda bought a BMW if I wanted a more gentle car, esp if I didnt mind going slower and getting beat by STI's. Besides, when I want comfort and luxury, I drive my motorhome with queen bed, surround sound, full bath, kitchen, couch, etc... For those more aggro days, I got me a Cusco equiped STI!

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2006 Trader Rating: (3) | On topic: Mine started making noises on the rears too, so im going to check all the things everybody said in this thread. If that doesnt fix it ill just think of it as one if the quirks of this car. Off topic: I am in love with my zero2rs as well. I was somewhat worried the ride would be overly harsh, but set at 3 the ride actually seems a lot better than my rce spring/stock strut combo. |

I'll be straightforward and say that if you think Tien Zero2r's are better than Flags, I think you are smoking low grade marijuana. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (2) | I dont do drugs anymore. Take cocaine for instance, I dont snort it anymore but I do like to smell it vigorously! Just kidding..... I dont even drink. Nyquil gets me buzzed now. I have yet to be beat by any flag equiped car. Also, I would still rather have my complete setup for under $4k complete (incl alignment and corner balancing) than flags and nothing else. I wouldnt want top line Ohlins or Motons etc if they werent part of a well sorted package. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
