Sounds like the little kid from "Meet the Fockers". Gaylord Focker taught the little kid to say "asshole" as his first word.

"Assssshoooooooooo........"

I'm not sure, but I think the shorter stop in the posted pic is the already-cut stock front bumpstop and the longer one is the uncut front bumpstop. That's why the short one is clean and the long one hasn't been cleaned off yet.

Yeah, I noticed that later. That's the front bump stop cut and uncut (though I personally trimmed the firmest progression instead). The rear bump stop have five progressions, not four.

is it worth trimming/replacing the rear stops? i have a set of the prodrive ones laying around, and if i ever get ambitious, i could throw them on.

Though I don't have exact measurements, just eyeballing it I can tell the rear is close to riding on its bump stops. So, the car probably hits them in corners- just not as severely as the front. If you have spare Prodrive bump stops lying around, then sure, I'd replace them. I mean, why not? Another alternative would be to put your stock front bump stops in the rear and sell your Prodrive bump stops.

Well stretch, Im gonna have to give you mad props. I did the install today and I could tell the difference before I got out of the driveway. It actually feels like a car on springs instead of big blocks of rubber. Those stops you recommended were actually a little larger ID than the stock ones, but they still fit fine inside the housing.

this install was easier than I ever would have imagined. I recommend this as a must do $20 install. My only gripe is that when I torqued my stock LF camber bolt to the 129ftlbs mentioned in the how to change your springs thread, I stretched the sh!t outta the bolt and ruined it. It was everything I could do to get it back off. Luckily it was the first one I did and I accidentily put the washer between the tophat and spring hat on backwards so I found the bolt was bad before it sheared off on me driving down the road. Got lucky finding one on a saturday because a friend of a friend has a wrecked 06 sti for parts.

THANKS AGAIN STRETCH!

Ha, I stripped a camber bolt too- the exact same one! I figured my torque wrench was busted because it never clicked, but now that you had the same problem, I think the torque spec is just bogus.

Anyway, glad to hear the modification worked for you. It's definately a nice feeling to have linear suspension travel! Keep us updated on whether you ever feel the car abruptly bottom out, because shortened bump stops will do that more quickly. I doubt it'll be a problem (it's nothing I ever notice) but it's something to look out for. The dynamics of your car should be pretty different- a little softer overall, but with less understeer and more predictability. After you've driven around a bit, I'd love to hear a full review (in the original bump stop thread so all the info is in one place, please).

The remainder of the STI's ride quality can be fixed with dampers with less high-speed damping (but preferably with more low speed) so all the bumps in the road get absorbed rather than resisted.

Anyway, glad you like everything! I just noticed the new title to the thread- awesome, you're welcome! Ha!
