I'm actually currently running without bump stops in the rear (didn't plan ahead when installing Konis), which makes me nervous, but there's so much travel back there that I haven't felt the car bottom out even where my wife's Camry clearly does.

If you tow things or find yourself routinely with four passengers and a full trunk, then- and only then- would you want to keep a longer bump stop- just to keep the rear from sagging from the weight. In that case, I'd recommend installing your uncut front bump stops in the rear (or just cut one progression from the rear).
Sounds like its probably a done deal. I think Im gonna try to do this next weekend but it will depend on the weather. Ive got snow again and my car wont fit all the way into the garage. I did my TiC super shift kit when it was sub 20* out w/ the garage door open. Im not in a hurry to do that again.

Here's a graph:
http://www.iwsti.com/forums/attachme...6&d=1163518303

They start at around 300lb/in, more than the springs themselves! Your total spring rate once on the bump stops goes from ~215lb/in to ~515lb/in.

It's all in this thread: http://www.iwsti.com/forums/showthre...919#post968919

Bought a strut spring compressor set on Saturday and just ordered the bumpstops. Updates to come...

Stretch, what do you think about pinks on these shortened bumpstops? Should I replace the springs while I have everything apart? Or should I, in the interest of science, just do the bumpstops and see what difference is made then do springs?

Well, I'd love to see you do things in stages in the interest in science, but if it were me, I'd do it all at once out of laziness.

You'll be shortening your bump stops 1-5/8 inches but lowering the car 1 inch. So, you're only going to have about 5/8" of travel before you hit the bump stops again once you're lowered. That's not much, but at least it's something. I'm not sure what you should expect- your ride quality and handling once lowered will depend upon how firm these aftermarket bump stops are and how far they'll compress. Unfortunately, short bump stops can be very firm.

Well, I dont necessarily need to spend the money on springs now. As a matter of fact Im pretty sure the ball and chain would frown heavily upon it. Science it is...

Unless someone comes out with a good stiff spring that doesn't lower the car, I think I am just going to cut the bump stops and get RCE lowering camber plates.

fwiw- i have lifetime alignments from firestone for $150. i have used them twice so far, and they will set in my specs.

but ALWAYS ask if they will use your specs or only set to factory.

also- you can get prodrive bumpstops from rallysportdirect.com if you are not comfortable cutting your stops.

I think I may do this as well. I'll probably do it when I get an ALK since I'll need an alignment anyways. Actually, I might just get RCE lowering camber plates as well....should be a nice DD setup until I get coilovers/ some replacement struts come out that are affordable!
