i had the same problem on the 04 sti its the left front axle was shot and it would sound worst whenever it rained finall took it to the dealer and they said the axle was bad

Sounds like a wheel bearing or axle.

Just to follow up, mine was a worn wheel bearing. Replaced it and the sound was gone.

took it back to the dealer today and they thought the front springs had to be changed but they said they still can't find the problem this is starting to get annoying a dealer playing guessing games with my car
