IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | I am so sorry. If your tire was damaged and needs to be replaced, if I remember correctly, look into this. Point out that in the owners manual it states that tires should have similar tread depth or damage may result in one or some of the differentials. If they are unable to order a new tire shaved, recommend replacing all four. I know you can order shaved at; http://www.tirerack.com/ Other than that, be sure bolts and nuts in and around area of impact concerning the suspension are all replaced with Genuine Subaru Parts. These bolts are often reused. Ask that all replaced nuts and bolts be saved so that you “know” they have been removed. An impact can compromise the integrity of said load bearing parts and I know how you are going to push the car. It would be the safest thing to do and the insurance company should agree. If not, buy the bolts only from the dealer and replace them anyway. Should not be too much. Ask the repair center to maybe allow you to use their wholesale license for a good price on the bolts if you have to pay. Also, I recommend you re-torque everything after 1000 miles to spec. A cool Subaru tech should be able to guide you. If you need more information on why I think this, PM me. I had the same thing happen to me when I was on a motorcycle. It ruined my day. |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | thanks again for all the input. heres an update of the situation. i just recieved a $4786.81 check yesterday with a paper attached listed with everything that needs to be replaced. theres like 25+ parts that need to be replaced and i was reading up on my rims. they said "Alloy Wheels - $180 - remanufactured" i called subaru up and my limited rims cost about $360 a piece and i was wondering if u guys knew what they ment by remanufactured. there are also alot of parts that just have part numbers next to them and some say order from dealer. do u guys know if they replace all my parts with genuine subaru parts? they also forgot to write up $500 for my front lip.. but anyways ill probably stop by at the shop today to check out whats going on and ill keep you guys updated and yet again, thanks for all the help. -josh This ad is not endorsed by this member.
