Our goal in pre-setting the T2's was to allow for some end users to get a base line set up. From there, they can make it firmer or softer. Especially the people who bought the softer rates. I delivered a clients car back to Conn. ( we are in Maryland) and spent 6 hrs in the car with the base line settings. These very much impress me still.

RCE,

The awesome reviews of these coilovers is making it VERY, VERY difficult to choose between the Bilsteins...here's my take on this...

T2's

Pros: Better adjustability, more spring rates available with option to change them if I would like, awesome customer service, in the long run will be better for track use while still maintaining a very compliant ride (at least from what I read), great warranty

Cons: are there any other than $200 more than the Bilsteins and the fact that you have to modify rear group-n tops to make them work...???

Bilsteins

Pros: Easy set it and forget it adjustment, great daily driver set-up, good for track use, able to use group-n/stock top hats with no modification, cheaper than T2's

Cons: Not as adjustable as the T2, long run will be asking for more at the track...

FWIW: Both are VERY well made coilovers...

My situation makes it quite difficult to choose between the two because my car is mainly a daily driver...I do plan to track the car a few times a year...I will likely not be auto-Xing...help with decisions, decisions...

You don't have to modify them....we actually get the STi of Japan Motorsports Group N that is designed for coilovers.

It's not just a modified Group N, it's built that way. If you already have rear group N's, then by all means, save some money and just modify those, but you don't have to.

Rear cusco camber plates also work.

Myles,

Do you have the coilover weights yet? I'm kicking myself already for not weighing them before installing them (no scale). I want to see the weight savings from stock struts.

I have weights, but they are for the 05+ coilovers with resovoirs. When the next batch comes in (this week) I'll get comprehensive weights for you. I promise this time!

Just want to give my thoughts on the T2's within this thread. I have never owned CO's before, so this is just a pure comparison on these compared to stockers.

If you can live with the stock struts, then these in a 500/400 on soft track settings is better than stock in terms of soaking up bumps on the street, but on the track....... OMG on the track.......... I had my first ever track experience last weekend and threw the car through about 60 laps on our mediocre 1.4km "M" course. The car placed the top 2 fastest lap times and was so easy to drive! Very neutral through the turns, yet fairly easy to get slip angle out of, and there was so much grip (used stock 070's) a mistake could be corrected effortlessly. All in all, I would recommend these to anyone, you really can't spend better money on this car than these!

Thanks Myles for an AMAZING product!

I have now been bitten by the track bug....

Geez...you guys need to quit with the great reviews already...it's making me too anxious to get mine!!! I got the 450/350 rates (middle) because I'm not a track junkie like some, but my car will definately see the track...most of my driving is around town. I can't wait...from what I read...they are supposed to be here this week sometime!!

Kind Regards,
Ryan

Took the car out for it's first good drive on 400lb-in F/350lb-in R T2s set to comfort.
Me likey.
Casual driving almost feels like stock in terms of stiffness. It's actually much stiffer but because it doesn't bobble bounce like stock it feels about the same. I don't think my wife would be able to tell.

Took it on a short 5 mile stretch of narrow bumpy beat up road. They don't make roads like this anymore. Tight turns, and follows the smallest of elevation change in the surrounding environment. So basicly it's all over the place. Drove it at about 6-8/10ths. (40-65mph instead of 25-35) I didn't expect the car to stay in it's lane but it did and held very close to what I wanted it to do.

A+++++ Excelent Product. Would buy again!!! LOL
