Default Now that Tarmacs are out - rear spring ?

I understand the reason for the rear linear spring on RCE Tarmac 2 coilovers but how does that change daily driveability when compared to the rear progressive spring on V3s?

I will be tracking my car 10-15 times this year and I am planning on buying coilovers (V3 or RCE) but I was wondering how much the linear spring will change things from a daily standpoint. I will be calling RCE next week but I would like some opinons from the suspension gurus here.

Thanks

The rate on the progressive coils on the V3's doesn't exactly function in the same way that it does on OEM style springs. They are softer than the linear coils and do take out some of the harshness but it's not as huge of a difference in ride quality as you might think. The linear spring alone will make the rear end of the car more predictable, and the other upgrades that come along with the RCE coilovers over the regular V3's are the icing on the cake. I really don't think you will regret going for linears, the ride quality is still great for coilovers.

One thing that we downplayed on purpose is that the Tarmac 2's use the top of the line KW race spring which uses a high quality coil material. With that said the key to the linear conversion will be the rates.

We are selling linear conversion for people who already have V3s and for people who want our T2s, but want the progressive rear, we can get that also. ITs win-win for less.

Many people ordered the 350/300 rates and we set those settings before they shipped so when people get them, they dont have to do anything other than install them. From there, they can make adjustments.

call us and we can advise you accordingly.
