I have the pinks and OEM strut tops with the Cusco rear bar and front Vbrace 2, also front and rear strut bars.

I just got back from a track day weekend at lil Talladega and LOVE'd the setup. I'll probably add a Anti-lift kit to keep the wheels planted in the turns but that's it for now.

taken from

Spring Front Rear Manufacturer Cost
2004 USDM STi 188 173 Subaru/FHI STOCK
GF210 240 224 Tanabe $219
2004 STi "Pink" 257 217 Subaru/FHI $380
HTech 240 207 Tein $???

i got the tanabe gf210's based solely on value to performance... based on spring rates alone the tanabes seem to be more balanced between front/rear than any other spring available... hope this helps

we are in the process of testing the Sti pinks, the Prodrive bump stop version springs, and the Eibach Pro kit springs.
Please explain what you mean by "matched". And how are you testing these springs?

I think it's important to point out that the use of the car plays a factor as well. A person will likely want allot less oversteer on a road course and the street than at an autocross. (I like more oversteer than the average person.)

Road racers also tend to prefer higher spring rates and softer anti roll bars, while autocrossers typically favor the beefier anti roll bars and softer springs for a more streetable ride.

I'll leave the dampening rate issue alone however since it is assumed that a spring only kit will retain the non-adjustable stock struts.

Default dead pedal..

to get a general idea, we are using a shock dyno to record a range of spring rate between severalk springs, and the stock STi strut.

Can you explain more...
I am on my final stage to decide on GF210.
But I heard from someone that Prodrive is working on springs that are identical to Pink (close to)

Please advice.

Thanks.

Hi Myles,

Perhaps you can help provide some info on the spring rates of the different aftermarket springs.

I saw a figure on someone's page for the Eibach Pro-kit, but it was likely
for the '02 application WRX, as they were remarkably similar to the stock
STi rates. Do you have the front/rear spring rates for the STi specific Pro-
kit ? Pinks ? Tanabe's ?

Now, your comments about the Pinks being more "balanced" -- did you
mean in terms of front vs rear rate or that they were more "balanced"
with respect to on-track driving feel/response ?

Lastly, the hardened strut mounts you sell - are these the genuine GrpN
STi parts or are these form somewhere else ? I don't know that one is
beter than the other- I'm just asking. Any idea in how much the rubber
durometer changes between the two ?

Just an update:

Talked to Flat 4 Engineering.

They think my Pinks will be in next week as early as Wednesday.

Can't wait..., much longer...must get lower.

Actually, I have an SBC-id to put in first.
