Default Cobb sways/Whiteline sways: Front bar new vs. old and 06 STi fitment?

Ok so after almost buying some used Cobb sways from a friend I figured I'd post about the questions I had and see who else has run up against this issue.

In apprehension of fitment issues with the Cobb front and rear sways I had that stemmed from this thread I called Cobb today to find out if there would be any fitment issues with bars from an 04 STi going on an 06 STi. The guy at Cobb told me that the only possible issue they could think of was that the early front sway bar was designed as a straight piece with no kinks in the bar after the initial bends from the end link attach sides, and that they would not fit due to coming into contact with the subframe.

The Cobb sways I looked at tonight that I was about to buy sure enough did NOT have the kinks depicted in the following pic that show the revised front sway bar that WILL fit an 06 STi. It was just straight across.

so needless to say I passed on them.

I have been looking at sway bars online, and I can't find any other pictures of front sways...particularly the whiteline sways that have similar kinks in the cars to accomodate the front subframe. That doesn't mean they're not there... but I don't see other bars having this feature...

So what gives... would the bar I turned down actually fit in the end with no issues, assuming that no other bars from other companies have these subframe kinks? Or are the pictures just not showing the right part?

Anyone else run into cobb sway front bar fitment issues??? Grap?

My whiteline 27mm front sway has no kinks and fits my 06 sti just fine. Had to wiggle it a bit to get it in there but once we did it fits perfectly.

My Whiteline 24mm front bar is straight with no kinks. But, I think the whiteline bars fit differently than the Cobb's. The Whiteline installs under the tie rods, while the Cobb is over them (I think).
