IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | Here's what came up. Camber and toe look good. I'm concerned about the SAI and Included Angle on the front right side. Anyone have any feedback on this? I can say that I had a little encounter with running over a curb straight on at 5 MPH with my front right wheel when entering a parking lot. There was a lot of snow and I didn't see the curb. Is my lower control arm bent? I've noticed that when I make slow right hand turns, it is not as tight as left hand turns. Basically, I have to turn the steering wheel to the right a little bit more to make a right hand turn. Toe is almost at 0 degrees on both wheels so I think the tie rod is fine. Car drives straight for the most part. http://img165.imageshack.us/my.php?i...ntsmallxz4.jpg This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | SAI = Steering angle inclination. This is the angle of the steering axis where your strut top (acutally the bearing inside) is the top and your ball joint on the lower control arm is the bottom of the axis. Camber plates can affect this number. If your lower control arm was bent, then yes, that could account for a lower number. However, as its made of aluminum its more likely to break then bend. When they do the aligment they are working down in that area and would most likely have seen any bends in the arm. It'd be hard to miss. Since you have concerns, I'd get that wheel it the air right away and take a good look down there. If its bent, it's been weakened and can break easily. FWIW, the last two times I had a aligment done, the shop didn't even check the SAI. Maybe they just omit it when the customer has camber plates since its going to be off anyway, don't know for sure. I plan on using a different shop next time (for different reasons) and will keep an eye out for the SAI. |
