| If you can afford Coilovers, then I say go for it, no reason to go halfway when you can go all the way. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2003 Trader Rating: (2) | My vote is for Eibachs. They are relatively inexpensive and will provide a very noticeable improvement in handling balance without the need to upgrade the struts. Coupled with beefier swaybars, I think you will be very happy with the improvement without sacrificing much in ride quality. The Pinks or Spec-C springs are other worthy options for a bit more money, but having raced on the Eibachs personally, I would not spend the extra money there. Coilovers will however be clearly noticeable as another step above even that setup, but unless you go with an exceptionally soft spring rate, your butt will feel the difference too. They are great for their versatility and adaptability, but for sometimes autocrossing, probably overkill and more ride harshness than you may be in the market for. If you are the DIY type and discover that simple springs just aren't doing it for you, you can probably sell them to another STi owner later for nearly as much as you paid, and you are only out your labor time. It's more difficult to sell an expensive set of 'used' coilovers. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
