Default what exactly is the difference...

.. between the O4 STi and O5 STi shocks?

Obviously the bolt circle changed, and so i would assume the mounting configuration between the hub and shock has too..

but did this occur for the front and rear..???

or just the front??
I know a 02-04 shock will not fit the front of an 05-07 STi, but what about the rear, would an 02-04 shock assembly bolt in the rear positions of the 05-07 STi??

Sorry for the n00b question, but am looking for THE definitive answer!

thanks in advance,
Chuck

Can't give you THE definitive answer, since I have not physically tried it myself, but having been on here and nasioc for several years and doing tons of reading on struts, conventional wisdom says only the fronts changed, and the rears are the same.

There is a guy on here somewhere that had his '05 rears replaced under warranty, and the dealer put shocks with an '04 part number on to replace them. That is the most recent exammple I can think of.
