I know you can spell "the" since you proved it in your own post. Using proper spelling/grammar will make your stay on the site far more beneficial for you.

My guess is the RCEs are more harsh than the Cobbs, since RCEs are some of the highest spring-rate springs for our cars.

Have about 500 miles on them since install in the last pic. Firmer and bouncier than stock, but much more planted and responsive (after alignment).

Struts feel a bit under damped on bumpy roads, but the turn-in and ability to toss the car around is much improved. This is with cobb springs, cut bump stops (front), and rear kartboy end links.

By "bottom out" do you mean "hit bumpstops?" If so, then yes... Cobbs will be riding on bumpstops. If they're not actually touching them at rest, they will be when you brake or turn.

based on some other threads in here, you bottom out all the time on stock springs so I would have to say yes I guess I bottom out on the cobbs. About the only time I can really think where I could even guess I am bottoming out based on feel is going over speed bumps but I go over them slow anyway. Another thing to consider is during high cornering loads there is a rapid increase in spring rate when the bump stop is compressed to near max compression, which I am sure would happen if you took a corner hard and fast. This would seem to be a problem for all lowering springs. I like the Cobbs well enough but I am by no means totally satisfied to the point I won't change them in the spring (which I will) to some RCE's or swifts just to see what they are like. I suspect I won't be truly happy until I get some aftermarket dampers to go along with my aftermarket springs.

haha Mykl beat me too it...

The way to deal with this problem is to basically not try to brake and turn at the same time. Massive turn in understeer would be "eliminated" by driving around the issue.

However, not having experience with lowering springs on the OEM strut I can only theorize that the drastically increased effective rate on the outside front wheel from riding on the stops will cause some pretty mean understeer during steady state cornering.

yes you will almost certainly bottom out on all springs, it is even said that the stock spring does it too. i have cobbs and i have to say they drive fine, not to low but will give you that nice stance on 18's. As far as bottoming out i cant even tell. I will recommend this though, GET ENDLINKS. Sti endlinks suck massive cowballs.

ok, sorry for the triple post here.....

a few questions about the springs that (sorry) could probably be answered with some searching...

the stock springs are too soft for the valving of the stock struts, right? which aftermarket springs are at a good stiffness for the stock vavling?

is it just me, or do some of the aftermarket springs drop the rear lower than the front? seems like it's that way stock, but do any of them actually level it out?

goldnglory, i looooooooooove your limited (mine's?) spoiler!!!! esp. with the upper spoiler. giving me ideas you are.

No weights on the outside of my rims.
That's a dumb cheapo way of doing it, and not suitable for
high performance rims.
