IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2004 Trader Rating: (2) | i hear this clunking sound coming from the rear passenger side with cusco 2e. it funny. it only make noise when damping setting is set to 1 or 2. but at mayb 3 and 4,5 sound isn't there. it only does it when i go over driveway or bunch of bumps on the road. and i have cusco swaybar with kartboy endlinks. so i don't think my endlinks are bent. anyone? IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (7) | just a thought - check your spring perches. i found that with my coilovers, i get this strange clunk due to the perches coming a tad bit loose. i just go in there and retighten them, but it comes back after a month or so. anyway, post pics of your new setup! |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (5) | I have the same issue with mine and was told by a few people that it is just the Cusco pillowball mounts. They are bad. You can also hear mine when going slow on the 1 or 2 setting, but 3-5 is fine. I just leave it on 2 and live with it. |

check out what Adam said...I had the same noise when I first put springs on my stock struts. Figured it for strut clunk, but even with greasing the struts up, I could still hear it. Tightened down the center nut, and it was gone. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2004 Trader Rating: (2) | the sound almost sounds like when my endlinks were bent. but they are not i have the kartboys with cusco sways. im not quite sure if its coming from the right or left. but its coming from the rear for sure. only at 1-2 level on econ. adam - is it possible to use torque wrench instead of the air tool? also what's the torque setting for camber plate adjuster bolts? |

| Authorized Vendor | no you'll need an impact - a torque wrench is merely going to spin the strut shaft camber plate bolts - its a stainless bolt going into aluminum - does not need a torque spec persay, just snug it down using a 3/8 wratchet - like strut top nuts, do not overtighten |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2004 Trader Rating: (2) | yeah. right now my front end is super low with my v-limited lip. i only have maybe 2/5-3 inch of clearance. and back is flush with the fender. so i don't know what's a good setting for the height on sti's cornerweights meaning corner balance, right? do they adjust the height as well if i take them to the shop that does it? thanks |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | I have cusco Zero 2R on 04 STi. Same thing happens, there's sound coming from rear when going slow on bumpy road. I was told that it comes from the upper mount which is made of metals, unlike stock one which is rubber. The upper mount knocks a bit with the car body. that makes the sound.. i inserted a thin rubber between them.. the sound is still there.. but much better.. not that loud |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | I've run several springs (S-Tech, Espelir ASD, Prodrive) as well as Tein Flex and now Cusco Zero1's... The Cusco's are hands down the best suspension setup out of all that I have tried...they are quiet and I experience no "highway bounce"... I've experienced clunking in the past... 1. Perrin Rear endlinks binding...after I installed the Tein's, I had this clunking that came from the passenger rear...it ended up being the spherical bearings of the Perrin endlinks binding...took the endlinks off, took two big screwdrivers and worked some lube in the bearings to break them in... 2. Front clunk...this was due to the topnut coming loose by 1/2 turn! I lubed the threads on the top of the coilover because of the slightly rusted look...this, unfortunately allowed the topnut to loosen...the front end sounded like it was coming off with just that little bit of loosening... 3. My latest clunk came from when I had my Cobb axleback retrofitted onto my APS 3.5" mid-pipe...even with the Kartboy urethane hangers, the cannister came into contact with my Perrrin Rear swaybar when I would go over certain kinds of bumps at slower speeds...so for this fix, I just went and bought some rubber hose material from the local hardware store, cut it down the middle, fit it onto the swaybar, two clamps and no more noise... 4. Clunk in the rear of friends WRX...passenger side...he had wrx struts with prodrive springs...that one ended up being the topnut lossening on the passenger rear...we were able to tighten it and no more clunk... I would recommend having a friend ride back there to listen for the clunk...it helps to isolate the sound...for the #4 scenario...we ended up taking out the back seat and riding in the back to find out...
