| Lurker | Is there a difference in the springs for the 2004 STI and the 2005 STI? I have a 2004 and bought it used. The owner previous to me put lowering springs on it and I want to put stock springs back on. There is a person selling 2005 STI springs. Will the 2005 springs fit? BTW hi I'm new to the forum and you guys have a nice community here. I'm glad to be part of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This ad is not endorsed by this member. You can't beat the price of stock replacement springs at around 50 bucks you won't be breaking the bank but the car will be a little softer in the twisties. |

| Lurker | Thank you very much for responding so quickly guys. Definately shows how great of a community you have here. I agree with both of your points to a degree, but my situation is that I live in Phoenix Arizona and there are hardly any twisty roads here. This car is my only car and it was a gift from my wife. I'm more into rally spec type driving and a lowered car is far from where I want to be in the future. I do have plans to get the tein flex coilovers with the adjustable dampers and height adjustments, but they are out of my budget at this time. I am merely looking for a suitable spring to prevent damage to the body of the car. I only have enough money to buy the stock springs which are being sold for 50 dollars. (Holidays) The tien lowering springs that are currently on the car are far too stiff for conventional driving and the car seems to get squirly due to the lack of body roll and the cheap hankook tires the dealer put on the car when they sold it to me. The added body roll from the springs "I think" will help the tires hold the ground a little better till I find it in my budget to get a quality set of tires. I do appreciate the prompt response from you guys and look forward to working with this great community. Are any of you guys from Phoenix? I'm looking for a STI club here to go hang out with. Lemme know. Last edited by SkipDog; 12-11-2006 at 08:50 PM. Reason: added information |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2005 Trader Rating: (2) | check this thread out... Forester springs or even forester spt/sti springs from subaru. This may be a way to get a little more clearance until you can sink money cash into the suspension. STI Forester Springs on 06 WRX STI? there's even a thread at the bottom of this one where the guy has elaborate lift setup with 9 and 10 inch ground control springs.
