IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | I'm looking to do my first set of suspension mods. I was looking into getting springs, I was wondering how is the ride quality with RCE springs, I was thinking about getting the pinks but after I heard word of the RCE springs, I'm feeling them Or I was thinking about getting some cusco sway bars, what do you recommend a street/track car sway bar setup? People has been saying on our cars up front slightly bigger is better. I was wondering what everyone else thinks? Overall, I'm not sure if I want to go springs first or sway bars. Which do you think I would have an overall better feel with? This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

| Silver Member | I got the sways first, tracked the car and got used to the new handling (no under steer). After that I put the springs on, got the performance alignment, and tracked the car again. Nice difference! |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2006 Trader Rating: (3) | I just got my 24mm rear sway and yes it is awesome, but be ready for some lifting of the inside rear wheel on hard corners. I will be getting rce springs and camber plates very soon so it doesnt bother me, but if I had to live with it for a while I would rather have gotten a smaller rear sway. |

| Junior STI Driver | might as well order the sway bars first. It might be awhile til you are able to get the rce springs! |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (8) | if you are going to track the car, the cusco bars are NOT going to cut it. you are going to need something a little beefyer, like the whiteline bars mentioned above. As for the RCE springs, i think they are the best bang for the buck suspension mod out there. These + a good alignment will go a long WAY on the track. Trust me, I'm really rethinking the need for HUGE bars after i put these springs on. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | thanks for the reply. I'm thinking about getting these springs for a while. I was wondering how ride quality is like on these springs with the stock struts. I also wish I could afford those ohlins struts ![]() BTW, for people who own the ohlin struts, how long is the life of the strut with normal driving, and where and how often would it need to be overhauled? I'm considering these over coilovers |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | I was also wondering I started noticing the bobblin head complaint that everyone else has a lot more. I was wondering if springs would help this ride issue out? How could you test if your struts are blown? |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | The RCE springs are THE BEST way to get rid of the bobble head. Don't worry about the springs being too much for the struts. They aren't. I'm running RCE springs and whiteline sways. great combo. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2005 Trader Rating: (9) | i would get the sways first (especially since it seems like the RCE are back order again since they are so popular) and see how you like the change. i noticed a huge improvement with my first setup (cusco 22mm front and rear) and now my current setup (whiteline 29mm up front, cusco 22mm rear) the whiteline didn't feel like it made a difference during normal driving but the car handled and steered MUCH better when auto-xing after i had switched front sways. and don't listen to spaze, his sways are teh weak! ![]() the stiffer springs will eliminate the bobble head. that was one of the first things i noticed when i switched springs (Tarmac springs, pretty close to the RCE specs from what i'm guesstimating.)
