| STI Driver | Update: Tom from Kartboy sent me 4 spacers, 1/4 inch thick with a 1/8 inch through hole, to go between the bar and the endlink, and between the mounting point and the endlink. I was a bit worried that they would be too thick, and I wouldn't be able to adequately tighten the endlinks down. Anyway, slipped those babies in and tightened everything up. I had to rotate the bar backwards a bit to get everything to line back up...not a problem, just have to be patient with it. The endlinks look much better now, they pitch outwards a tad instead of inwards a ton, so the optimal spacers might be 3/16" thick...but I'm not complaining. Took it for a drive, and the little clunks that I had before are gone...everything is stone quiet. Not to mention that it LOOKS a LOT less stressing on the endlinks. Big thanks, Tom! Everyone that has this bar/endlink combination should put a set of spacers in...especially if you are having clunk issues. This ad is not endorsed by this member. IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2003 Trader Rating: (2) | I was concerned about the same issues of bar angle, endlink angle, and clearance myself. I have the PolTec endlinks, which I got because of what I thought would be obvious stress on a non-spherical bearing enlink. I deleted the pictures I took, otherwise I'd post them. I'm tight on clearance with stock springs, but I can't see a way to make the clearance any better. I can't find any evidence of contact with axles or steering linkage, though, so I think I'll be fine until I swap out the springs - then I'll have to re-visit the whole issue. In looking at it from an engineering standpoint (even with the spacers on mine), it occurred to me that having the endlinks angle in toward the centerline of the car is a good way to keep the bar centered. If the endlinks are too close to being straight up, wouldn't there be more lateral play in both directions? |

| dances with roads | Since I don't have Whiteline bars I did not bother to read this thread until now. But I have to say, that looks like a design flaw plain and simple. Here is a shot of my front Hotchkis swaybar with the car sitting on the ground. Picture is not exactly from the same angle but I think it is clear that the end of the bar is parallel with the endlink mounting point. |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2005 Trader Rating: (3) | my perrrin has the same issue at first but i called perrin about he front sway bars and it was a design flaw. they tried to make them the same as the older wrx models without changing it and it was hitting my control arm. so i sent it back and they sent me a brand new front sway bar. but i am upgrading to the whitelines and you all seem to have the same issue? is it fully hitting or only on certain settings? |

| Gold Member | I have the exact set up, WL 29mm FSB and KB endlinks. Pretty much is the same as this pics, the bar is too short therefore the endlinks is angled just like this. I have to add a few spacers to make it somewhat less angled as this pic show. Quote:
