A spacer inbetween the sway bar and endlink aswell an inbetween the control arm and the endlink. That should make it fit real nice. My whitelines came with spacers but I went out and bought 1/4" and some 1/8" spacers for a more precise job.

Spacers... It seems more like the endlinks need to be 3/8 of an inch longer. How exactly would spacers work in this case? Does anyone have pictures of a set of spacers installed?

Tom,

I think that would work really well with your links. I have thought about shortening the threaded end of the bolts for my rear applications, but can see where the added spacer would help on front bar applications.

so, spacers are the answer, eh? does this suggest to anyone else that the whiteline bars are manufactured about an inch too short?

I had the same problem installing solid endlinks on a Cobb bar. I also went back to stock but then purchased the Cobb links. Here is a link to the thread on Cobb:

and another thread here on the same topic

This is in my 04 STi, under load, when the car is not lifted. So imagine since the bushings are at it's limits under load doesn't leave room for compressing when in a turn. The problem is the angle of the mounting tab (the green line) of the WL bar model XSF36XXZ is not parallel with the mounting tab (pink line)of the A-arm. This causes the mounting bolt (the red line) to not be perpendicular to the A-arm, which causes the bushings to compress on one side and separate from the endlink on the other. I had the same problem with the WL alloy endlink. I reverted back to the stock endlinks and haven't had a problem since. Here is my original thread regarding this that include some email correspondance from Whiteline and some vendors: whiteline 27mm and hd alloy endlink doesn't look right

I know in this pic I have two of the spacers on the top. I was just trying this configuration out. I tried every configuration of the spacers. One on top and one on the bottom just as WL suggests.

Calisti:
Excellant reply and documentation. You are on to something. Can you take a image of the stock endlink on the WL bar and add the same centerline and angle lines?
The articulating ball of the stock link solves the "short" problem without stress on the ball socket as it can pivot in infinite positions along the axis (doesn't sound correct to me-I'm a just a tink-tink).

Guys....It a bushing!!! Make it fit the best you can or get some spherical endlinks.

Although changing the endlinks doesnt even fix the problem....

Try to get the endlink to line up with the green line so each bushing has the same amount of pre-load.

Question Ultra Stiff?

Ultra stiff suspension may grow a bit tiresome on anything but glass-smooth roads
Are you saying that just the sway bar made the suspension Ultra Stiff, or do you have stiffer springs as well. When I installed the same bar on my car with stock springs I could not tell any difference in overall stiffness, just a huge reduction in body roll.

Here are my suspension mods:

RCE springs
Group-N strut tops (front and rear)
Whiteline steering rack bushings (not really a suspension mod, but changed the feel of the car)
Whiteline 27/29 mm bar (set to 29mm of course )
Kartboy endlinks

I did the bar last, obviously. It's more than just a lack of body roll... it's like all the mods are playing together as one, now.

You owe it to yourself to get a set of the RCE springs...everyone should get a set.

I never posted on this but you just reminded me. I put the whiteline endlinks on the rear also and the bolt on top stuck out so far that on hard turns the threaded end came in contact with the brake line. It wore out the protective cover and started marking up the line. I cut about 1/4-1/2" off the end of the bolts and now they clear fine.
