I spoke to Blake Fuller (941-954-1114, blake@brailleauto.com) at Braille Auto Development today. They are the same people who have brought the Braille 11.5 pound 700 Peak CCA battery to market.

Blake stated that, if the STi community shows some interest, his company will develop a front sub frame brace and aluminum under tray that, unlike the Cusco or Do Luck braces and Primitive Racing or Fastline trays, will be made to work together as a set.

The aluminum under trays are great for shielding your car from gravel ect. but do not work with anything other than the stock hydroformed channel member. The Cusco or Do Luck parts help stiffen the front of the car and shed a few pounds from the heavy girl, but won't work with existing aftermarket trays.

Show some interest, be a cheerleader.

The tray is a good opportunity to work a diaphragm into the frame.

I would be interested in anything that reduces weight (particularly forward of the center of mass) and increases lateral rigidity.

It's going to have to provide easy access for oil changes though.

Xman: "by undertray you mean skidplate correct?" - Yepper!

Sciolist: "It's going to have to provide easy access for oil changes though."
- The Fastline tray/plate requires one to remove a few bolts to change oil. Frankly No Big Deal. No harder than removing the plastic factory tray.

Default Sirius Tuner Install

I will probably build my own, to replace the stock piece. In my opinion, It should be 4130 steel or Aluminum, should tie in all 6 points like the Do-Luck, but should include some triangulation, either by tube braces or by (in places) the skidplate (or tray) being welded directly to the frame. And It should not reduce ground clearance. If you can come up with something before I can finish designing and build mine, I may buy it.
