Default Gauging Interest,...sway Bars For Sti...( UPDATE ON PAGE 4)

So 9 months into our planning of sway bars for 04 to 07 STI, I wanted to get feedback from the Subaru community and more specific , the STi community.

Hollow, modular,solid,..............what do YOU guys like. We know and see what sells, but we want to hear from you guys(and gals).

22mm is small and 32 makes noise.............we like things that work and work well. Function always matters, but being able to drive every day without a drum solo under the car is key, so let the feedback begin.

We are ALL ears. I think we are on the right track, but we like to hear from you people.

Myles

Performance of the Whiteline 27-29 FSB with the weight of a hollow bar... (so probably a 32mm hollow that actually fits really well)... yet adjustable downwards too.

Same for the rear, but I think Whiteline's big solid is 24-26 or something. A hollow bar with simlar performance would be great.

It may be tough to get us what we need and yet be original about it.

Endlinks under $100. A strong piece of metal with two holes in it shouldn't cost $100. $60 maybe, but $100 seems too much.

I like the swaybars with a tapered design to prevent the bar from walking. My whiteline 27-29 has a slight taper in it to prevent this but the cuscos do not.

Quck release for an easy change of stiffness would be nice. So if you go to the auto-x you can pop the car up the night before and adjust. Also, you could combine this with some sort of notched hole setup (sort of like a camber plate might be set up). This might make the ends of the bar weaker though.

I've also heard that instead of grease some guys are using teflon tape. Maybe you could test this out and incorporate some sort of teflon coating into your design.

Go with what works but is hard to get. The Whiteline bars are GREAT when people have them in stock. Something in the range of 26-29 and (a 29+ for us track nuts) Front bar and a 20-22 22-25 rear bar would rock!

I dont have a big problem with the WL bars... maybe something BIG like the strano, but is more competently designed (IMO).

i'd love to see a similar size to the whitelines but hollow because the whitelines are quite heavy.

I don't either 99% of the time. There was a thread dedicated to the clunk awhile back though where a few people were having issues.

Only real problem is many of us already have the biggest WL bars or the strano bar... I doubt I would make another FSB switch... but then again I could see a well designed large bar selling well regardless.

I sent you an email but I figured I'd post my thoughts in here. I have been running the Whiteline 27-29mm front bar on the 29 setting for some time and I have been happy with it. However, I decided for this past track event to switch it to the 27mm setting to see how it does. I liked it a lot better...less understeer and the car just felt more neutral and easier to control with throttle inputs. So my thought is to do a 27-29mm hollow bar. The 29mm setting would be similar to the 27mm solid bar, which is about as much bar as you really need if you are running decent spring rates. IMO the 29mm setting on a solid bar is only really necessary for those running in auto-x classes that use stock springs. And then the 27mm setting would be like a 25mm solid bar, which is good for a daily driver. As far as the rear, a 25-29mm (3 position) hollow should do very well.
