IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 Trader Rating: (10) | Update: Dropped bars off at powdercoating shop. Dan (Boost Junkie) has a set on his car that are unpainted, just raw and he did a track day this past weekend with no noises or issues. Driving to and from his house is a very bumpy route so I feel good about initial fitment. He will post his impressions( especially since it rained). I may do something crazier with the 2 sets of bars as far as color !! On the front bar we have gone to a tab that has the wholes next to each other so that we can have a wider range of adjustment. Essentially that of the 2 extremes in the rear. ( To be announced shortly). One guy said he wouldnt mind having green bars like the Pescarola LeMans green...which I vividly remember from LeMans 2006, but again, that would be on 2 sets of initial extra proto's. I do want to hear back on the final production color suggestions. Myles This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

I like that idea, a dark gold/bronze would be nice.BTW, as Myles mentioned I had a chance to drive at summit point in the rain with these bars the other day. I'll post a full writeup later, but for now I'll say I was very impressed.

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | Man, I am kind of excited about these. I think you should go away from black color since you do want to show it off as aftermarket in my opinion. I sort of like the Gold idea even though black is my favorite color. I am glad that more US made product is becoming available but I hope you guys don't go crazy on the price. Adjustability is key in my opinion and am sort of amazed that nobody has come up with a designthat uses a moving ARB mount and moving endlink so that you can have numerous positions. It would be cool to see some ARB's with tapered leafs so that you could have infinite adjustment points between the max and min ranges. However, I hope that you guys (RCE) distinguish your self from the current market with these ARB's by providing some actual testing data and some input on how and why you picked the rates you did. You must have a parking lot so why not throw on the stock bar and this one and give us some roll, lat g's, time to steady state etc. numbers? I am in a desperate need of a bar and so far haven't bought one since not one single manufacturer or vendor has convincing enough data. I pray that you guys break that trend. EDIT: By the way, here is a good article on the 4130 (chromoly) vs. Mild steel. http://www.cachassisworks.com/TechTi...ip-002_WEB.pdf The 4130 is actually less stiff since a lot of people use thinner tubing, reducing your I in the EI equation for stiffness. Stiffness depends on E (young's modulus) and I (area moment of inertia, which depends on thickness). Last edited by MGizzle; 04-30-2008 at 10:04 AM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | Myles, rubber bushings, please, please. Maintanance free is enormous if you ask me and right now NOBODY aside of CUSCO offers this. However, CUSCO is 22mm and seems like nobody likes them. I am close to getting a set from CUSCO but am patiently waiting to hear what bushings (and maybe even a rear mount) you might be offering. |

IF.....I repeat IF..I we can, we may offer both. Poly and rubber. Not sure which at first. Most seem to want or dont mind poly, but that doesnt mean we arent trying to make all happy by having both. As far as price point, thats always touchy because unless a gazzilion people buy them, they are low production runs. As far as the moving end link type true race design, I had that idea about 3 years ago when we started on the camber plates, BUT.....I had to choose my projects and I felt that it might be super hard core and then I pictured all the guys who would screw that up, installation, etc.....you name it. None the less, each product that I have come up with I have personally had and used and tracked and they all were derived from there being a NEED for it. With my focus only being suspension it has meant I can track ( then when I had an STI) my car and test all these things you see us sell, at a track that I have driven, raced and instructed at for over 15 years and see or not see differences. Being able to do laps within a session that are within a tenth each lap, means being able to change parts the same day and see differences. Esp when I am not told what is what. That has been my basis for 90% of the things we sell and suggest( except for the "Z" days) but we wont go there. Myles Last edited by RaceComp Engineering; 05-01-2008 at 08:42 AM.

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | Sounds good Myles. I like your thinking and I feel you on the adjustable ARB's and consumer complaints by messing up installation. Good point, in the end you are runing a business. I also like track data and lap times are perfect. I don't know much about you and your track/racing experience hence when I drop money on your product I can't really go off of that. However, if you show me a lap time in some sort of fashion and then you tell me you shaved off XX sec with these ARB's than I have lots more to go on. Hence, I know I would appreciate it a lot if you could give us more info on how the car was at the track with these bars and what else you had on the car? Tx man. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 Trader Rating: (10) | Me?..I raced SCCA, NASA, and more recently the IMSA Panoz Series with 2 podiums last year. Autocrossed in the 80's with a visit to Nationals with a podium there. Started at 15 in my uncle's grey market 911turbo, then moved up to VW's and no power and the whole carrying speed. Now I do RCE and work as a pro driver for BMW North America for their ride and drive media events. This year working for ALMS as a pace car driver also taking vip and media for pace laps( Vitesse program)( which are 95% at speed) for the ALMS races and support races. Also doing development driving for CBRD's time attack Evo along side Andy Lally and Chad Block. I dont have money so all my driving has been opportunities handed to me from being in the right place at the right time. I am also 6'3" and most of the time that I have beaten other guys its been in great discomfort using my ankles and wrist because I was jammed up in someone else's car at a test day or last minute opportunity !! As for the bars....keep one thing in mind like in the first post............we didnt try to recreate the wheel here. We havent said once theat they are better than what s out t here. I just wanted to offer an "option" with a size that maybe doesnt exist. I will have the final % over stock soon and will of course post them. But I really do appreciate the feedback MG..thats why we wanted to get these out there and let people know what we were doing so we could get the feedback. I thank you for that.
