My two bits if you are to produce a sway bar system:

The bend of the sway leading from drivers side rear mount to the endlink should not pinch the bushing. The bar should have more space as it leaves the mount and bends up to the endlink. The bend should not start the millimeter after it leaves the mount, it needs a "bit" of space. Both Boataholic and I use cobbs adjustable sways and our rear drivers side bushing has been penetrated by the contact of the bar and mount bracket. I've had to replace my bushing as it "creaked" from the bar rubbing against the metal bracket which wraps around the bushing. Boataholic is due as well. I know I'm nit-picking here but I had to say it.

Titanium is sexy stuff but won't work for springs or swaybars. While very strong and lightweight, its elastic and shear moduli are about half of steel. Here's some mechanical engineering for you...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shear_modulus

A Ti bar to work it would have to be much thicker than an equivalently stiff steel bar. For a given twist angle, the Ti bar would produce half the torque of the same size steel bar.

As far as my opinion goes, I agree that a packaged setup that works well with the RCE springs would be very very tempting (similar to Cobb but stiffer/more autox & track oriented). It also sounds like a lot of people want a "gap bar" that will fill between the WL 24mm and 27mm bars. Fix the end link angle issue while you're at it

as what a lot have said, hollow bars are the way to go imo...the weight savings are great.
for size, anything bigger than 25 because that's what cobb's are (that's what i use and love them.) but if they're were a bigger size in a hollow sway bar that is strong, i'd be all over it.

agree, i looked at mine before and said to myself, "that sucks, they need to give that more room or something"
and like you said it also puts strain on the endlink.

wow, didn't catch this tread at first

i actually LIKE my Cobb sways and endlinks.
but i could think of a few things that would make me like them even more.

- make the front one JUST A LITTLE stiffer (especially the front)
- make the front adjustable, just like the rear

oh, and sell then at a good price

that's it.

Well we are not done, but here they are. We did not try to recreate the wheel, but to offer something in between in size and address some of the issues we see out there.

Diameter 25.5mm
Solid bars.
Material 4142 Chrome Moly
Heat treated and cold finished.
Ends are hot forged on a 125 ton press.
Front and rear adjustable.
washer tabs on front and rear to prevent walking.
Black in color. (unless you guys have a better idea)

More specs very soon. We test fit them today and they fit fine with no rubbing and no noise. Rear is done and just needs to be powder coated. Fronts we have one revision to do.

I am very happy about this and have wanted to do it sooner, but there are still many non modded cars out there and with the new STI here, we arent turning our back on you 04-07 STi owners.

We have 3 beta testers who will be getting these shortly for long term testing. Clint at TIC will get the first set after that and Boost Junkie already has his on ( unpainted at that) for noise testing and fitment checks.

Hope you guys like this. As always I am nervous as its new and I was up in the air about doing this for a LOOOONG time.

More pics tomorrow.

Myles

They look awsome. I think Their a perfect balence of what the other companys have to offer. Do you have any idea of what pricing is going to be like?

How about painting them yellow to match your popular springs.

i vote for black PC. the only time i'll want to show off the color of my sway bars is if the car's on it's roof and i want something to distract the witnesses because of my embarrassment...

Thanks for the words. I have lost sleep over this at times the whole "to do it or not to do it" thing. Color will probably be black, but if the feedback from the community says something otherwise...we are up for doing what you guys like. I like black because its low key and wont draw attention, plus many other colors are taken already.
