The STi's ride is quite a bit stiffer than the RSX's. Remember, the STi is designed as a true performance vehicle in limited numbers. It's not going to be like other mass produced autos(like the RSX) that appeal to comfort, first, with a bit of performance thrown in.

I have driven both and would not say that the STi is all that much more stiff than the RSX-S. In fact, I was surprised to find out how stiff the RSX-S was, especially as compared to my old integra. If I were to add the RSX-S to my "ride harshness table" found earlier in this post, I would put it between the STi and Boxster, FWIW.

I agree, I like the stock suspension, but I do see room for improvement... then again, who wouldn't with any setup? Suspension is a very personal thing in my opinion.

BTW, my car before was an Integra. Very nice ride, but is rolled in the corners worse than a fat woman.

Agreed. Suspension settings can be very personal. It wasn't until I got reasonably good at Forumla 1 GP2 that I realized that my suspension settings were really different than what allot of other fast drivers were using. While many people seem to prefer a mostly neutral suspension with smooth transitions, my driving style favors handling that might otherwise be better suited to drift events. I love to steer with the throttle!

I sold my S2000 several months ago for an Evo. I am at a point right now thinking about selling the Evo because the ride is so jarring and uncomfortable, my pregnant wife CANNOT drive in the car with me.
Somebody stated earlier in the thread that they felt the S2000 was alot less comfortable than an STI.
I am considering switching to an STI if the suspension was a bit softer and more tolerable in everyday driving. The Evo is an amazing handling vehicle and would run circles around an S2000 but I really don't care I would rather get something a little more refined ... wondering if an STI would qualify ?

You might want to try the Bilstein shocks from the Evo MR, which are supposed to make it much more comfortable (and still handle equally or better): http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/preview...y.php?id=42900

They're not available yet, but should be soon enough. I'm sure most vendors would be able to get a hold of them.

It is so subjective it isn't funny... my wife originally HATED the sti seats and the ride quality and still isn't a big fan of them. She won't go on long trips in it, that's what we use the SUV for. But other people's significant others think it is fine. It depends a lot on their preferences and what they are used to.

OTOH, my wife does love driving it... Much more fun than being a passenger.

Your wife needs a decent length test drive in the passenger seat in one before you come to any conclusions. Personally, I wouldn't hold my breath, but who knows... she might like it okay.

The ride quality on the stock STI is what I would call "brittle", perhaps like riding on a rickshaw. Even the S2000 consumes the bumps better than the STI. How ever I cannot agree more that the stock tires are a little rediculous for everyday driving. Once I rip through my pair of stock tires I will be looking for a replacement which should help the ride.

why does everyone hate on the RE070, im going right back to them after my S-03PP wear out. i think the RE070 is a awsome tire, if not that one then Azenis Sport, or the 235/45/17 that the evo runs ADVAN something.

oh yeah to the point, i drove an R32 and an EVO in the same day, my STi with pinks, rear sway, front and rear sturt bars, is bad ass. the R32 is real comfy, and the EVO is the evo. i got back in and my car felt solid and gave good feed back and body roll was minimal. im happy with it besides i want the front sway now.
