IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | My current setup: - Stock struts, rears are clunking (23K miles, they sure didn't last long) - Pink springs - Group-N tops in the rear - RCE camber plates in the front - Whiteline front bar (27-29 adjustable) - Whiteline rear bar The issue is the struts. The stock ones seem to pretty well suck. And since they're clunking & sticking, I am planning for the replacement. In the meantime I apply grease periodically to the rears to keep the noise down. What I'm considering: 1. KW v3 coilover 2. Ohlins coilover 3. Ohlins fixed-perch struts, keep the pinks 4. AST Sportline I non-inverted coilover What I use this car for is ~20K/year of daily driving (about 75% freeway, 25% very bumpy back roads), plus a half dozen or so open track events. My inclination is to fork over the cash for a nice set of fixed perch Ohlins. What would you recommend, and why? This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

If so, I'd go with the Ohlins fixed perch. If you want higher spring rates and are willing to sacrifice some ride quality, coilovers might be the way to go. Since you already have front camber plates and rear tops, you should take a look at the RCE Tarmac 2 coilovers. They are basically KW V3 bodies with external reservoirs up front, higher spring rates w/ linear rears, double locking perches, etc. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | I am so far happy with the pinks at the track. I only use RE070's, and I run out of lateral grip before anything bad happens like ripping out fender liners .Harshness (or rather, lack thereof) is important to me, since we have some truly crappy roads that I drive every day. The AST's only made the list at all because they seem to get rave reviews as part of the Type 25 package. I'd like to make my car a Type 25, BTW . What a nicely put together car. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (14) | Yeah the Type 25 is a really nice car, but I think the Ohlins and KW's are head and shoulders above AST. If you are happy with the Pinks, I'd say get Ohlins fixed perch. I think you will be really amazed with the ride quality as well as the performance benefits. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2005 Trader Rating: (3) | Sounds like you would be very happy with the Ohlins Struts. Since it seems like your more focused on getting a plush ride over the increased harshness of coilovers. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
